Tannins are now *very* thin but wine hasn't turned, so still drinking nicely. Like the chocolate notes. Not a lot else going on. Drink now if you still have it!

Deep garnet color. It has blackberry, soft black currant, black cherry, violets, cedar and cigar box from the oak. Full bodied, rich and intense fruit. Viscous and soft in the mouth. The tannins are soft and pretty much subdued by the fruit intensity. A long finish. Lots of time left for enjoying this wine.

I hadn't heard of Trione before Mike Good of Timeless Wine started promoting it via e-mail offers. I didn't bite but one of my best friends did and we opened his first bottle a few days ago. We were blown away by how good this wine was and would have assumed that it was Napa Cab given it's ripeness. 2007 was obviously a very generous year.
The wine features dark red/black cherries and a bit of ripened plum on a medium to full bodied frame. The front palate is where all of the action takes place but there is enough acidity to keep the wine from tasting flabby. It's a very drinkable wine with a long, sweet finish. We drank over approximately one hour and agreed it was good juice. Cheers!

Nice bottle that is drinking well. Plenty of dark fruit, but also a bit of tartness that is not unpleasant. Well integrated. We shared with several guests, so did not get to see how it developed once it really started breathing.

Not as good as the first tasting I had but may have been a pairing problem (hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill at a friends house). Color was dark and intriguing but it seemed a little simpler than last time. But I do think it's a beautiful bottle of wine.

Trione Tiny Bottle Tasting; 2/12/2013-2/16/2013 (My Place - Washington, DC): A nice purple-earthy color. The aromas of fresh black cherries, violets and red licorice are sleek and elegant; they don’t punch you in the nose. The palate shows silky tannins, surprisingly fresh acid and a medley of delicious flavors. Black cherry and currant fruit is highlighted by menthol, cedar and creamy oak. A tangy cherry note lingers with toast and earth on the finish. A cabernet with boldness, but also class.

Trione tasting: Dark ruby color. Aromas of roasted bell pepper and coffee with black currant and cassis. More dark berry and currant flavors, mellowly ripe with hints of cocoa and roasted coffee. Creamy polished tannins and full finishing notes. Very approachable.

Wonderful nose of cassis, black current, cedar, and vanilla. Slight tannin in the mouth but very smooth and full of fruit and flavors. Nice finish. Deep purple color says drink me.

Better on day 2. Either needs more decant or more time in the cellar.

Much better after 2-3 hours of air. By day 2 it seemed to be rather light with little to no depth.
