Dark berry, spicy nose. Dark purple garnet hue. Dark fruit, spice, mellow, nicely balanced, easy to drink without food. Terrific bottle and aging nicely. Considering the purchase price, this is a decent bottle and enjoyable.

decanted 2+ hours, served as a ringer (together with the 2010) in a parcel of Carlisle Zins. In comparison this wine was a bit austere and one dimensional, but still not bad.

This isn't our favorite Seghesio zin, it's too tight and missing the lushness of a wonderful zin. Flavors are a bit acidic , mixed with the fruit and spice. There is a long finish of fruit, spice and acid.

The San Lorenzo Block 8 is usually my least favorite Seghesio Zin. Lighter in color with muted and funky aromas and little flavor. Very little fruit coming through to cover the alcohol (15%). Essentially, nothing to recommend here.
Another victim of a carefree pop and pour night. We didn't record our impressions. Reading the other reviews, I wish we had treated this wine with a little more respect instead of hauling it out for an impromptu weekday party.

Nice balance and good showing of black fruits. Despite the 15% alc, no heat. Very good easy drinking Zin. Would not be surprised if there were some field blended grapes such as Petite Sirah or Carignan in here.

Good balance, strong lingering taste; blackberry and plum taste; could improve with another year or two

Red fruit tones with nice flavors but a bit rough around the edges. Shows some heat.

Black pepper, spice, black berry and other dark fruit. A little hot, but overall showed great.

Restrained style, medium body, farily high acidity with a bite on the finish.

Another excellent effort from Seghesio, concentrated dark fruits and a full jammy finish.
