Although I didn't taste this back in the 90's, I'm pretty sure it is past its prime. Still quite a bit of fruit, though, cherry & raspberry. A nice earthiness follows and then some oak. Color leaned toward the rust, and it was more acidic than I expected. The acidity was OK when we shifted to dinner, coq au vin, and it balanced the richness of the sauce. Thin in body, not surprisingly. Overall, it held up quite well for a 17-year old Pinot.
