This wine evolved, opened up and became quite spectacular over a 3 hour decant and while in my glass. Got the impression this will improve quite a bit with a few more years of aging.

Decanted for 2 hours, consumed over 6 hours. A big if one-dimensional nose of hot and spicy purple and black fruits. not as much flavor punch in the mouth as I was hoping for, and the finish was short and while focused, uninspiring. disappointing. if scoring, 85-87, and not the best stuff from this winemaker.

pop n pour. brought this on our family cruise over thanksgiving. mom and aunt came knocking on our door for some refreshments before dinner. their refreshments turned out to be almost the WHOLE DAMN BOTTLE, so i was left with one measly glass. what i had was full of heady perfumes of purple flowers, intense red and purple fruits, and vanilla cream. thick but balanced in the mouth, bursting with juicy gushing dark fruits. elegant in an over-the-top way. very very good. if scoring, 92-94. this baby will age well imho.

This has leapfrogged to the top of my (very short) list of favorite Petite Sirahs. Displays what I now consider prototypical Keplinger luxuriousness in its silky, enveloping mouth feel. Dark berries and mocha on the nose, black fruit, graphite and a touch of pepper on the palate and a longish finish. Drinks beautifully now with a healthy amount of air (consumed over two days, more expressive on Day 2), this has plenty of life ahead of it.

Similar to earlier notes, though seemed a bit fuller, rounder and softer in the mouth.

Improved with 2 hours of air. I'd drink now through 2017.
