I have to say, I was worried I waited too long when I found this in the cellar. But as soon as I opened and poured, I knew I was fine. Fantastic color in the glass — would never have called this an ‘09 visually. A slight oxidative note on the nose hinted at the age, but it was still replete with RRV pinot character. Very enjoyable.

Was a little concerned at first, as the bottle seemed to give slightly raisiny notes, and thought it might be past its prime. After an hour in the decanter, it was fine. Probably would have been better a year ago, but still fine. Good fruit. Don't wait any longer though.

Wine Reviews: Pinot Noir: SRP: $55. The nose opens with oak. Underneath the oak are some ripe, dark cherries, plums, and blackberries, along with some cola and spice. Supple but structured tannins and great acidity, but the oak treatment is too obvious. A disappointment, as this wine clearly has some expensive fruit inside!

Had to breathe. But okay after. Heavy for a pinot.

Very closed initially from cooler cellar - but with decanting good deep dusty cherries came through
