Pop and pour this was tight new world fruit on the nose with an acid- and tannin-driven old world palate.
Two hours of decanting reveal luscious dark fruits, chocolate, coffee and graphite and a round, balanced Cab palate approaching perfection. Earthy and oaky. Hanger steak au poivre and chocolate for dessert. This is at its peak and should be approached soon.

Most recent tasting notes capture (no pun intended) the wine profile and tasting notes. First of seven I bought and enjoyed this wine a lot. Smooth and integrated tannins with a wonderful note took about 30 minutes for this wine to reveal itself. Enjoyable and glad i still have half a case to enjoy over the next few years.

Lovely wine that we enjoyed on its own after dinner . Fully mature, it still was deep purple with no bricking. Nose of cassis and smoked tea. Body was round dark fruit with resolved tannins and enough acid for balance Long finish It probably can cellar longer but it was drinking in its moment. Enjoy. FYI I have a cold natural cellar so my wines age slowly. I had this as a drink by 2022.

Aged well, and ready to go. Tannins are soft & smooth. Minimal sediment. Slightly elevated, but well integrated acidity is what’s keeping it in a good spot. Don’t wait much longer on these.

Should have waited on that first bottle 4 years ago. This is drinking well now. Dark purple no brick showing. Nose is cassis and some vanilla and spice. Body is well rounded cassis and dark fruits soft tannins decent acid structure. Notes of tobacco and chocolate Good finish. Hold for awhile or drink over the next few years.

Really impressive stuff. Not yet ats its peak. Still has some structure to integrate, but with that a very nice effort now. Notes of dark cherries, some plum and a touch of clove. Well structured on the palate, but abundant fruit guiding the finish. Drank after a two hour decant day 1, corked and put into the fridge then consumed day 2 and held up very well, could've gone another day.

Three hour decant, this could use several hours more at this stage in its life to open up further. A great nose of a merlot driven bordeaux blend with dark, jammy fruit and light tobacco. The palate is heavy on tannins to begin with, with quiet acidity. Dark cherry, tobacco and chocolate with a smattering of vanilla round out the full bodied, rich mouthfeel. This needs several more years of cellar time or a ton of air, after about six hours open it showed what it can be with a shift to a slightly sweeter, more complex wine.

Just like my last experience 18 months ago, this was rough and tumble for two days of slow breathing before I thought it was at peak. Flavors were on the edge of stewy and the tannins were crushing most of the enjoyment. I was pretty much ready to write it off as dead on day two. But in almost biblical reference, the wine "arose" on the 3rd day and was stunning. The Merlot-heavy blend gave up the reduction sauce and all of a sudden the tannins seemed to synchronize and balance with the flavors being presented. I don't know what this means for further aging of the wine, but I would suggest trying the blender trick, or at least Vinturi the next bottle in another year or two.

Broke with practice and opened the day after delivery. Nose had red fruit and tobacco some chocolate good body felt more merlot than Cab. Tannins seemed soft at first but wine closed in the glass after a few minutes. aeration opened the nose again, but clearly will wait a few years for the next bottles. good balance all around.

Checking in after a year since the last bottle. Displaying even more class and depth, but the tannins are still pretty grainy. Took a full 24 hours in decanter before it felt settled but it is worth the wait. Very good on night 1, great on night 2, exceptional on night 3. I'll be back again in another year. 5+12+17+9= 93

Originally opened at a restaurant, where it naturally showed rather reserved. Notes from the last 1/3 of the bottle, two days later. Color is a bright but dusty ruby, 80% opaque, with clear, average-speed legs and no sediment. Bouquet is now exploding from the glass with pure cassis, raspberry, roses, a touch of spice and white chocolate. Any other similarities to new world end there, though. The palate is carried by a very Bdx-like structure in tannins and acidity while the flavors run the gamut of dark sous bois, tobacco, stone, and fig, while never losing any of the fruit shown on the nose. Medium-length, clean and dry finish. Great balance, but at this age needs a healthy aeration to reach it's sweet spot. I really admire how these Capture wines continue to display the French influence of the winemaking team. 5+11+17+9 = 92

Big nose of cherry with lots of tannins and good oak notes on the palate. Good California Bordeaux style red.

This was an all around nice wine. Not over the top fruit bomb, but very drinkable.
