  • Bottle in prime condition, not even a millimeter soaked cork, nice dark color, dense, settled melted sweet tannins, very nice remainders of fruit and overarching spices and herbs (thyme and basil, allspice and pine), precise acidity and divine length. Absolutely gorgeous Cote rotie. Improved seriously about 1 hour after opening.

  • Very little nose, as the fruit is settled down as one would expect in an aged Cote-Rotie. Tannins are sweet and nicely balanced with the acidity. There is something about this that is a bit bitter and potentially corked. Clearly a Cote-Rotie, but not exceptional, as I expect from the region. No score given the potential bottle quality issue. If I were to score it, mid-80s, but seemed like this could have been really good.
