Served with a black forest chocolate cake. Great pairing. This port remains quite viscous and compact. This is the last of my holdings and is a fun drinker with the right dessert. A big syrupy fruit bomb with a little bit of heat. Nothing real heady or complex. Drink or hold.

This is a solid vintage ruby that goes great with chocolate and the like. Although this appears to be at the end of its drinking window on paper, I would submit that there is more than enough fruit and structure to this port to get another 8 years or so out of it. Drink or hold.

Had with desserts including Tuxedo Napoleon, chocolate mousse, carrot cake and tiramisu, along with cherries and blackberries. Great pairing. Nice fruit and savory chocolate and coffee notes. Lots of sediment towards the end of the bottle. A good but not great port. Probably much better in its youth.

Confirming my previous note: a great LBV. A session port. Smooth, rounded, supple. Not complicated, in terms of flavour: strawberries, plums. But not without some length, either. I think the real charm is in its body: it's gentle, almost delicate.

Clear and bright with a beautiful medium ruby colour and inky legs. The nose is clean and developing, showing medium intensity aromas of liquorice, candied cherries, red plums, chocolate, clove and cedar. The wine is medium-sweet with a medium acidity, medium+ slightly coarse tannins, high alcohol, full body and medium+ intensity flavours of candied cherries, chocolate, red plums, liquorice, clove and cedar. Long finish.
It is a very good quality wine with a good balance between tannins, sweetness and fruit concentration, a lingering finish and the tyipicity of a LBV Port, but it lacks some complexity. Can drink now, but it has enough tannic structure and fruit concentration to develop some tertiary aromas in the next 5-8 years.

A quite straightforward port, dominated by cassis both on the nose and on the palate. Its real elegance though is in its lightness on the palate and on the finish; well-balanced structure and alcohol. Really very pleasant.

Adieu 2012, Salut 2013! New Year's Eve Dinner Menu; 12/31/2012-1/1/2013 (Atlanta, GA): Looking forward to tasting more as time progresses. Very enjoyable port that's not heavy on the palette but juicy and drinks all too easy. The Tasting Note Assistant further adds:
