Was worried it was past its prime but this bottle was very good from beginning to end. Poured a small glass and it had beautiful floral notes and full mouth yet nice soft tannins. Let it sit for 2 hrs but did not decant as didn't think it was necessary. I'd call it medium to full bodied which surprised me as I thought by now it would be thinner and weaker. A lot of blackcurrant and spice but an earthy leathery vibe evolved and lingered into a fairly long finish. We enjoyed this just before dinner and during while eating cowboy steaks and grilled salmon. It was a great bottle and wish i had more.

- Brick color - Bold nose, dark fruits, currants, spice with hint of black pepper. Full body, jammy, moderate acidity, prominent tannins are a bit harsh and bitter. Long finish.

This bottle came from our first trip to the vineyard then to the east coast and back to the west coast when we moved to Portland. We really love the balance and jammy fruit showing through with delicate structure and smooth finish that’s a tad quieter. Rare blend of 92% Cabernet, 4% Malbec, 2% Merlot, 1% Cab Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot.

Translucent garnet color. Had a bit of TCA at first, but this blew off after a few minutes in the glass. The nose on this was very luscious, with currants accented by a light touch of sweet oak. Super velvety and round in the mouth, with ample black fruits, in the manner of Right Bank Bordeaux. The tannins have softened and integrated nicely. This is drinking well right now. Not one of the standout vintages at this winery, but very pleasant drinking nonetheless.

The beautiful thing about this wine is that it can sit with other wines that are made by overpaid winemakers and go toe-to-toe with almost all of them, and will still be the #2 or #3 wine of the night after it's all said and done. Today, this wine accomplished them all. In a field with a 2009 Harris Estate, a 2010 CDP, and a 2014 Sangre Jonata, this wine was the clear wiinner vs . them all. Black cherry opening, with herbal nature in the middle and finish. Not just your fruit bombed front-weighted wine, but has some substance to it. This wine has depth. Complexity. Resolve. And it did pretty much from cork pop. Very intrigued by this wine presenting so well at almost 10 years of age, but this is what happened here. Great wine, great depth, great length. Can go another 6-10 years. Just really hasn't even scratched the surface.

Beautiful wine, powerful, great nose w/ smoke, blackberry and flowers with smoke, blackberries, and licorice on the palate. The finish is long and the wine did not fade at all over 90 minutes.

This was a last minute pick up as part of a case purchase for the holidays, as was a price - close out. First time tasting from this winery, and was not disappointed. It offered a nice nose, with alot of currant, and plum. Purple fruit on the nose, and on the palate was evident. More Cassis for me on the mid-palate with star anise. However, I'd agree the finish was a bit thin, and I was hoping for something with a little more depth.

Passive decant for three hours. This wine started out very closed down and I was pretty disappointed and prepared to rate it an 88 but the next day it opened up quite well and finished out nicely. RP 94, WS 92

Opened at cellar temperature and was initially tight and restrained, so decanted 2 hours before pairing with roasted prime rib roast for Christmas afternoon dinner. A dark purplish ruby robe, the reticent nose features black currant, blackberry, cassis, graphite and touches of toasty oak. Was neck-and-neck with the 2009 Chateau de France (Pessac-Leognan) served alongside, but with another 2 hours the latter wine really opened up and broadened across the palate beautifully, with juicy fruit and tannin, complementary spices and a 25- to 30-second finish, pulling clear of the Lancaster. The Lancaster softened over this time as well, but was not transformed the same way, probably owing to the extravagant use of 24 months of new French oak. Expensive bottle that should be really hitting its stride 5 years from now.

92/4/2/1/1 Cab/Malbec/Merlot/Petit Verdot/Cab Franc. 24 months new French oak. Soft medium intense nose of baking spice, blackberry. Palate is lush, layers of dark fruit, cassis, black plum, chocolate, graphite, flash of hotness that subsides, medium plus finish. This is like a Sonoma style for the Napa lover, if that makes sense.

Bright cherry and creamy vanilla on the nose. Savory herbs on the mouthcoating mid palate with a long finish of juicy berries, vanilla, cocoa and herbs.
-- Consumed at at cellar temp: 60°-65° F. Friends don't let friends drink red wine at room temp!

Licorice, smoke, coffee bean and jammy blackberries lead to a fat, round, sweet, ripe, concentrated wine with a lush, chocolate and black cherry filled finish. This was a lot of fun to taste. For high scoring Cabernet Sauvignon, it's also fairly priced and easy to find.

Shock decanted in the cellar one hour prior to consuming with grilled tri-point steak roasts. A dark purple in the glass, the nose is of blackberry and black currant, cassis, dark plum and dark chocolate. Well-structured on the palate with the nose largely carrying forward along with graphite, a touch of earth, and toasty oak tannins. Drinking very well now with the modest decant, though built to last at least through the decade.

Still holding up pretty well probably still has another 3 to 5 years left in it. Classic Lancaster Estate Cabernet. Well done, Jesse Katz!
