Beautiful elegantly structured Zin. Fruit element is beginning to fade allowing the the mineral notes to shine through. Still has plenty of acid and the fruit that is left is Rutherford dusty raspberry cherries. paired deliciously with wild boar. J says time to drink now.

Very disappointed in this wine. It may be young as others have said, but I decanted for an hour and it was smooth but flat. Not much fruit to speak of either. The best thing was the chili that we had with it.

ZAP 2013 (San Francisco, CA): red, orange in the color. blackberry, pepper, mushrooms, on the nose. oak, blackberry, pepper, tar, on the palate. big acid, medium tannins, on the finish.

IMHO why this is a 88 and not a 93 is this needs more time. some of the tartness needs time to settle down so that other things can com forward in this wine. great structure just this needs more time. I think this will be special in a few years.

This was very light and unexpressive (I know it's not a word but you get my point). I hope the next bottle is bigger.
