  • Initial tastes of anise, earth, and dark fruit. Big tannins and dark fruit flavors, this is a yummy big dark wine.

  • Aerated to decanter 3 hours, served non-blind. Medium-dark garnet core, good reflections. Appealing mix of floral and dark berries, with an earthy underpinning keeping the whole package interesting. Sensibly full-bodied, well lifted, with a touch of ripeness (candied red and black fruits) that teases more than it flaunts. Alcohol is really well integrated. A solid example of the variety, with equal parts of flashiness and humility. A big hit at the dinner table alongside slow-cooked, dry-rubbed ribs. This disappeared quickly; sadly, my last one. highly recommended, 14,4% abv, drink thru 2017. In a very good spot now, no reason to wait.

  • Drank over three different nights over a five day period; initial night (Thur) pop & pour, drank one glass; circumstances didn't allow me to return to this bottle until Sunday and finished Monday. This wine is a beautiful dark, inky color in the glass, with a touch of bricking at the edges; complex aromas of dark berry & meat, along with mineral & floral notes, flavors of black cherry, berry, and spice; powerful and yet silky in the mouth, this is a delicious wine. It remained excellent over the extended drinking window, softening slightly from day one to the last two nights without losing flavor or complexity. I would definitely look for it again. 5+13+17+8=93
