Showing we'll right now. Acidity overpowers fruit and tannin, so it is a good food wine. Nose of dark fruit, cedar, leather and a bit of earth. Palate - dark fruit with dominant acidity. Finish falls off.

The wine seems to be in the peak period. Quite open now, in fact it drank well for 24 hours and improved on Day 2. The nose is Bordeaux but you can't sense much Margaux typicity. Decent balance between oak and fruit, the fruit is dark and plummy, and there is a smoky and meaty element. The mouth is medium bodied, I remember it as more fleshy. Melted tannins and good acidity. The mouth feels a little loose, I would have loved some more grip. But overall there is good intensity on the nose and palate. Drink now - 2017.

2008 is a good year. It is just unfortunately overshadowed by her younger siblings. But this is good for your pocket. I brought 2 bottles to a dinner party at a Thai restaurant. We drank it before the main meal. It was an instant success. It had this fantastic nose. Sweet and uplifting. This is why one loves the region Margaux. It has legs and a lengthy finish. Good value here.

Dark colour, not showing very much evolution. Loads of dark fruit on the nose: cassis, blackberry, plum, and hints of pencil shavings. On the palate, the wine is near full-bodied, round and smooth, pretty oaky, decently concentrated. The finish is medium and somewhat too oaky for my taste. Overall, this is a good 2d wine. It does not have any real complexity, and its soft structure seems to indicate that it is meant to be consumed in the short to medium term. Drink now or in the next 2-4 years. 87-88.

Medium dark with a bit of brick showing on the rim Cassis dominate on the nose with hints of oak. The nose is medium in intensity. Medium bodied with mid+ acidity and with soft tannins. It is nice, but a bit one dimensional. 2= good

Wine one of nine, all 2008 Bordeaux varieties:
Perfectly enjoyable throughout, particularly the expressive bouquet, which featured Merlot-like qualities. Balanced and suave.

In my cellar peaking now. Tannins softened classic (a bit light) Margaux with a hint of popcorn in the back.

Blackberries with a touch of leather. Unimpressive tannins. Some black pepper. Give it an hour or two.

Selected for us at Le Goutillon in Chantilly. Fantastic minerality and perhaps the best wine I've while visiting France.
