My last bottle (I’ve been through more than a case of these). This isn’t the freshest, but still holding on well. Rich citrus fruit, some almondy notes show oxidation creeping in, chalky mineral finish with just a touch of petrol. B+/B.

I’ve been through a lot of these, most pretty fresh, a couple quite oxidized, this is more mature than most but still enjoyable. Good acids, citrus and herbs, with some petrol and almond notes making its age show Not best bottle, but quite fun. B/B+

I’ve had some variation from these, and this is more advanced than most. Still a tasty wine, but not fresh as some other recent bottles, there’s a distinct nuttiness over the apple meets seashell base. Still I enjoy. B

Coravin sample from magnum. Still fresh and aging nicely. For my taste in a perfect spot in terms of maturity. Plan on opening in the next 2 years. Opened the magnum the next day and the wine grows with more air. Definitely not tired

A really tasty mature Sancerre, but clearly more mature than other bottles I’ve had. Clear variation here. Citrus, seashell, but also some nutty notes. B+/B

My bottle was delicious- balanced and fine, fruit blossom nose, citrus fruit accented with chalk and smoke, nice length. I really enjoyed it. However, two of the 6 participants had clearly oxidized bottles (all from the same case). So premox is in Sancerre? Never heard that, but on other hand other than a few Chavignol producers (Cotats, Vatan, Boulay and maybe Thomas-Labaille) I don’t know any that people age. But this bottle for me A-/B+

Clean bright yellow. Nose with flower, mineral, green something. Tons of acid, lemon/lime, white fruit on palate. Nice lingering clean finish. Would swear it was much younger than it is. Nice wine, pretty expensive for what it was though. Reviewing some notes almost like two different wines: bottle variation or some intervening suboptimal cellaring/transport?

Yellow-gold in the glass - this is a shade or two lighter than the Mont Damnes. The nose here is a little problematic, though - a ripe note, bordering on overripe/oxidative, with none of the clarity of the first wine.
Still present acidity, but not nearly as vivid as the first wine. Whereas the Mont Damnes presents as a still young wine, this almost drinks like a white Burg beginning the descent into pre-mox "hell". The difference between the way the two wines are drinking today is stark, to say the least.
This wine was in a really good place. Would imagine a few more years will add to complexity on the palate but wine had great acidity, lift and length. Highly enjoyed.

Good, but maybe not up to my high expectations. Fuller style, mineral and white fruits, quite good but a tad muted and not the stunner I expect in $40+ Sancerre (but that's my expectations, not wine). B/B+

In the zone now. The fruit just glides across that bed of stone and glycerin. A touch heavier than the Clos de Beaujeu. Could go with a nice range of food, but really a heavenly match for swordfish and ahi. I'd give it another 3-4 years of good drinking, which contradicts the community avg., but I think it's at peak now. I don't detect anything that would lead me to believe otherwise. 5+11+17+7=90

Perhaps suffered from high expectations? Adequate acidity, but also rich and full. Paired with a winter salad. Would have liked even more acidity. Should try the same 2012 next and hold off a year or so on having the 2010 again to see how it progresses and perhaps pair it with something a bit richer (e.g. maybe salmon instead of salad).

I've tasted this wine three times in the past, starting in June of 2012. The nose seemed much the same as the prior tastings: "fragrant and complex aromas of orange blossoms, lime, lemon, chalk, other minerals, a touch of quinine and ginger." In the mouth it seemed a little fuller bodied, with the same succulent and richness of the past. Very nice acid, as well a balance. The wine is going to last many years. A gain, as with my first tasting of 2/2/12, a very nice pairing with Black Cod.

A real stunner. Waves of lemon zest, grapefruit, pears, wet stone, a hint of mint?, linger on the palate. Beautiful verve, a long mineral-drenched palate. This wine lived up to its billing.

Decanted 5 hours. Lemony and minerally with a flinty edge, this delicate and precise white has a lovely transparency in the mouth which allowed the vineyard site to shine through. Gives a real sense of place and time. Delicious too!

Did not change much with air. Notes after following for a day open. Very light straw color with a light haze. Crisp bouquet of lemon, white flower, seaspray, and ginger. Grippy but not overly tart; it's not removing the enamel from my teeth. Excellent bedrock of minerality with a long, clean finish. Probably still on it's way up. 4+10+17+8 = 89

Similar to when last tasted 9 months ago, wherein I indicated: "fragrant and complex aromas of orange blossoms, lime, lemon, chalk, other minerals, a touch of quinine and ginger." Much the same flavors. However, I did not get the orange marmalade I got in the flavors last time; the flavors seem just slightly restrained this time. Possibly, drunk too fast after removal from the cellar. Nice acid and structure. A succulent and crisp feeling in the mouth. I'm probably consuming this wine way before its time. Consumed as a quaffing wine, just before going out to dinner at an Italian restaurant with friends.

Consumed at restaurant, no formal notes. Very crisp and brittle at the pop but as it warmed up, more and more layers of flavor stretch out on the palate. Finally at room temp, it was really singing. I'd say there's a very promising future here and deserves another good year or so to strut all it's stuff.

A very light greyish-straw color; similar to the "La Cote" color. Striking and complex aromas of orange blossoms, lime, lemon, chalk, other Loire minerals, a touch of quinine and ginger. The flavors are similar, with orange marmalade instead of blossoms. I do not get any grass. Elegant and succulent in the mouth; ripe and fat. Nicely balanced and great acid. Drinking extremely good at this juncture, but has many years left. It's going to be hard to stay away from this wine. I thought "La Cote" was exceptional wine, but this is on the same par. "The Cote" may be a hair better, but it's just a hair. A nice long finish, with just a very slight touch of heat. A great pairing with Black Cod. Great food wine and great wine by itself.

Pale yellow/green. Lime and herbs. Fairly light but explosive and very intense in the mouth with mouthwatering acidity, perfect ripeness and fantastically stony finish. Great crispness and purity. There is another layer of richness lurking below the surface that seems typical of the Boulay wines. Exciting Sancerre.
