Level A - just a fraction from cork. From neighbors to producer, I was told. Against same wine in 2005 and no clear winner among friends. For me this was lower in complexity. Fruit was surprisingly still fine even for a 1975 that are often tannic and lean.

Perfekt opbevaring. A/B stand Proppen var gennemvædet op til ½ cm fra toppen. Farven var meget flot og viste ikke alderen. Lige i starten lidt oxidativ i næsen. Det svandt hurtigt til fordel for frugten og kom aldrig igen. J anede lidt kork, men det forsvandt også. Tanninerne var helt integreret og opfattedes mere som syre mere end tanniner. Klassisk bordeuax i næsen. Var bedst efter ½ time hvor den lidt tabte pusten. Men var stadig fin efter 2 timer, omend lidt mat. Manglede kroppen til at komme højere i point. Men tror omvendt den aldrig har haft den helt store krop.

An excellent 1975. Fully mature but perfectly vital, cedar and earth, lovely core of fruit, juicy, lovely balance, tannins in check, dried cherries, good length. A fine wine.

Eleven years ago, this was very impressive but still a bit raw. Now perfectly mature, with a rich, saturated colour; a rich, deep nose of blackcurrants, cedar and spices (cinnamon, cloves) with a lovely, ripe sweetness; on the palate rich, ripe, brooding, fleshy, shapely, harmonious acidity, tannins in check, lovely extract, dried cherries, red meat; long. Now - 2005.

An easy afternoon with close friends (@ My place): Brown edge. In the bouquet coffee, not so pleasant pig stable and peas. Tertiary taste as well with a lot of acidity and tannin. Tannin of the kind that will never soften. Still a firm wine, but not really beautiful. In my mind is that this wine was much more beautiful about 10 years ago, when the fruit could handle the tannin. So if ever I find my older notes, I will publish them here as well. I score the wine anyway. (This was probably 8-10 points higher in the past.)

Bordeaux 1975 ten years after the harvest; tasted blind, only the vintage was known: still some violet in the colour, refined vanilla, not much fruit, elegant and smooth in the midtaste, but a bit lean, friendly aftertaste, although a bit sharp and missing some balance.

Richter Raritäten Vol.VII (Magnums only) (Farnsburg): Out of a double magnum. Slightly opaque, light red-brick color. Barnyard, spring-forest-floor, rather light and medium body.

Way over the peak. The green note was overwhleming and distracting.

Nice acidity, fairly fresh fruit, a subtle nice wine.

Good body below the severe tannins. However, I guess the tannins will never soften sufficiently before the fruit has gone.
