  • This is why we age wine. Baby fat is gone and this is lean but gained precision and a gorgeous finish. Still racy with vibrant acidity, and a core of red and blue fruit, clove and nutmeg spice. Delightful St. Joseph!

  • This seemed to be in good form - had aged well. It still had full fruit flavors and some spice but did not linger too long. Sort of a "here and now" wine, not calling on the spirits of the ages as much as I thought it might being a 2009. However, it was a reminder of how delicious St. Joseph can be, especially with grilled lamb. It would be a wine to have in larger bottles because people will want to drink copious amounts of it. Sort of a country wine rather than a refined red to drink at a Michelin star restaurant.

  • Wow, this is good. Aromas of spicy black fruits, a bit of red cherry, cranberry, funky earth and lots of lavender. Same flavors on the palate with some smokiness and that old world Syrah funk. Medium bodied and nice texture, hard to believe this is 12.5% alcohol. Need more. Thanks to Eric at SEC wines for recommending!
