Contestant for WOTN, this has real intensity; a dry, chalky exteriour, a very sound and vivid fruit. On the young side, certainly (from MG), but the harmony here is great, it is a seemless joy to drink, light on it's feet, en danseuse. #Jordnær

Tasted blind, didn't come up as the top of the 5 village wines we tasted together, which was slightly disappointing. The wine was floral and presented quite some red fruits on the nose and the palate, rather elegant. After opening 3 hours, the weight of the wines started to come through, but not as deep in structure as one would expect from liger Blair's wine. Still a good wine though, just not up to the standard for the price I think.

I wonder if this is an off bottle. Nail polish, tea and leave on the nose but missing the vr floralness. The fruit started to dry out at the end of a two hour dinner. Disappointing for a liger belair in a great vintage.

Liger-Belair Dinner (Hong Kong): This has a very pretty and quite classic nose. Very floral, bright red cherry somehow already adding earth character. More elegant than spiced, think more like a Chambolle perfume. Quite ripe. Palate is much less interesting than the very nice nose. Palate is youthful and more straightforward than the great nose suggests, but this does have weighty fruit and I can see this aging well. Interestingly this is my preferred wine of the whole program.

Fu's Juge traveling road show (Clovis Ca.): A pretty wine here...so polished with subtlety at first, kept gaining and gaining through the night...wonderful crunchy youthful red fruits, sweet floral spices, mineral firmness...subtleties of smoke and earth, raspberry puree...and that spice...Mmmm!

Winos' excellent adventure in France; 6/22/2017-6/27/2017 (All over France): Beautiful nose displaying subtle blackberry and black cherry, sweet spices, grilled cep, already showing a lot of sous bois and mineral. Beautifully integrated palate, silky and polished, good acidity and very fine silky tannins. It is surprisingly complex for a village wine. Drinking beautifully!

So incredible expressive full, ripe red fruits, flowery, spices. Needs better integration in the palate but deffinetly a great wine for the future! Lock your cases in the cellar.

Ordered off the wine list for 168 euro at Lasarte in Barcelona. Light reduction on the nose. A distinct hint of olives. Bright red fruit, a touch of wood, elegant Vosne spice. Softened and became very balanced with 30 minutes in a decanter.

Drank in St Emilion. Amidst a bevy of underpriced Burgundy on the wine list, I chose this bottle over the 2009 La Tache for $1400 that caught my eye. Im glad I did. I smelled this and said WOW so loud that the restaurant all looked at me. Unreal ripe fruit and spice on the nose. Leroy style fireworks with DRC style finesse. Very forward, full and amped up fruit. Like a CA Pinot without the alcohol. Lovely rich chocolate note amidst the red black and blue fruit. Great depth but not length which is the only clue it's a villages. Remarkable.

Opens a little closed on the nose. After a few minutes in the glas its comes. Delicious pinot nose of red berries, raspberries and powerful herbs. Maybe a hint of something green in the beginning. Taste of fresh little immature berries and a little spicy. Some prominent acid. Quite powerful tannins and clear barrel. Needs a few years to calm and soften. However its a good balance between fruit, acidity and tannins, it is well structured and have a really good length. A very nice wine, but too young and virile at this point. 50+5+13+15+9=92p.

Floral, earthy, stem, expressive aromatics. Generous, trades on elegance over power.

A better wine in '10 than some give it credit for. Beautiful, moderate complexity, and currently approachable. A credit to good winemaking. 93-94

Great village wine. 2010 wines from Comtes Liger Belair are beautiful. Hold 5 yeas (92-93)

2013 editon of En Primeur - Kelly and Kevin’s excellent adventure; 3/26/2014-4/1/2014 (Mostly in Bordeaux and a night in Paris): We first ordered this. Ripe opulent black fruits, blackberries, blackberry liquor, sweet dark spices, mushroom and earth. Very good concentration, intense ripe dark fruit driven palate impression, nice silky palate, noticeable but nicely integrated tannins and long finish. Although obviously primary, this opulent and expressive wine is a joy to drink.

Vosne Millésime - Noblesse des Clos Vougeot - Les Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Château du Clos de Vougeot): Tasting. Good spice aromas with ripe fruit showing liqueur hints. Big fruit with firm tannins on palate giving a rugged impression. Just a notch below the Colombiere for me this morning.
