So reticent at first that I was ready to write it off as a tart-cherry bitter flop… but then it opened up to share red and black cherry velvet fruit, spices and soft tannins and low-med acids. 13% Alc. Delicious.
Tasted side-by-side with a 10’ Confuron Chambolle, which had more stuffing in the tannin and acid department, also very good.

Drank over two nights. Pretty red fruited nose with stem, spice and light iron notes. Medium bodied and totally smooth edges. Harmonious but the structure still makes itself known. Should hold and even improve over 5+ years. A pleasure to drink and speaks Chambolle.

Dried cherry, purple flowers, a bit of sweet spice, vanilla. Smooth palate with silky tannins and good acidity. Good fruit, stemmy spices. Drinking wonderfully. Has 5 years, but why wait?

Very good! Still very fresh. Bright garnett color. Dark red fruit but balanced with earthiness and some spice. Clean finish. No oak. Very enjoyable today but not anywhere near to close to pushing cellar limit.

A touch of reduction which quickly blows off. Plenty of spice and chambolle prettiness. Wonderful sweet purple fruit on the palate. Balanced and with an impressive amount of fruit for a village. Very open and enjoyable right now. Seamless even. Evolving nicely compared to 3 years ago when I thought there was a bit of out of place oak. Unfortunately this will not make old bones in my cellar.

Nose - cranberry, rose hip tea, sour apple Mouth - nice expressive red fruit attack, very crisp but extremely clean and minerally on the midpalate with surprising mouthcoating tannins. Consumed after a weekend of Russian river tasting, and this is much more pure without any of the rootbeer or rhubarb that complicates those wines.

Dark violet in color. The nose has dark fruit, strawberry jam, Dujac aromas, and a little spice. Initially it is a bit tight with lots of oak. With about an hour in a grand cru glass, the wood fades and rich fruit remains. A bit of floral prettiness emerges with time. About twice as concentrated as the Hudelot Noellat version at almost twice the price. Definitely Dujac on the nose and palate. Very nice. Looking forward to a checking back in 5 and 10.

From the list at Benu. Ruby color, semi-transparent. C-M funk, toast, a bit of green. Tight palate, light-bodied, red fruit, medium acid. Slight green note on the medium- finish. Needs time. 13.5%

Very pretty nose of strawberries, some black pepper and minerals. Nice texture on the palate that is decent depth at this level. Some stemminess. More red fruit. Very pretty but with structure. Medium finish. Sweet.

Chambolle Musigny Masterclass, with James Handford MW (Handford Wines, London): (Barrel Sample) Red fruit, light dark fruit notes, light oak, meaty elements, floral and elegant nose. On the palate it is silky, yet on the easy side, with a some firm tannin on the end. Some green/harsh notes on the finish too. 87

Didn't really take any notes, but this was a stellar villages-level CM. Lovely perfume, detailed, lively.

La Paulée de New York 2013 (Metropolitan Pavilion, NYC): Nose has big awesome dark jam. Palate, however, really falls short, and is straight up generic "winey". Closed. I'll pass on this for now.
