Overnoy & Brignot Dinner (San Francisco): Wow, mind blowing nose with a complex array of roses, strawberries, violets, cherries, and a bit of VA. Nicely balanced with great acidity and lots of red fruit, alpine strawberries, citrus zest, and a slight forest note on the palate. Long finish. This was absolutely on fire and drinking perfectly right now! Clearly had the nose of the night and I initially scored it higher, but I felt that it didn't improve with air and showed best right out of the bottle. Incredibly good, though!

TN: Jura Night (Mon Ami Gabi - Chicago, IL): Big shame, but this was a complete mess. Refermented ocean-spray cranberry cocktail juice. Even with air this just was not correct.

A singular, compelling wine; a cloudy pinkish-orange hue in the glass and a fragrance that's hard to put into words, combining fresh pomegranates, grapefruits, floral and mineral notes and other more savory elements into a scent that's hard to move away from. There's a sense of lightness and delicacy on the palate, wonderful focus and precision to the flavors and remarkable presence and persistence on the palate. A real treat.

Dinner at Bar Boulud with the Wines of Overnoy/Houillon: Whoa - this is compelling. When this Poulsard is right, there is no other Poulsard like it. This one is right. It's a cooler vintage and the wine is light in color and in body, but it is intense on the nose and all through the palate. There are many descriptors that would be accurate here - it sensed persimmon, pomegranate, flowers, blood oranges, animale, and more. In the end its about the overall package, the incredible finesse and harmony, the purity. Like drinking liquid rose petals. I love this wine.

Tasting with Pierre Overnoy and Emmanuel Houillon in Kyoto (kiln in Kyoto, Japan): PNP into Radikon tasting glass (“Fruit” day): Deep spectrum of petite red fruits, herbal, floral and white pepper notes on the nose. A great nose with development.
The signature ‘soft touch’ as expected. A slight bittersweet note towards the finish.
Very good indeed and well balanced but may be lacking a little acidity? 92-93 points.
