Ruby. Alcohol, licorice, and dark red/black fruit. Full and lush. Heady, serious Southern Rhône mix of thick fruit and garrigue. Lively acidity and round tannins. Deeply earthy finish. Like prior bottles except that this one seemed hotter and less balanced. The weight was striking after drinking a lot of Burgundy the past few days.

This is a delicious wine. I decanted it for 90 minutes before serving it with lamb chops. As good as it is, I think it might have been better 2 years ago. The nose had bacon, chocolate and blackberries. The mouth was pleasantly medium to full bodied. And the finish was long, smooth and flavorful. But the acid and tannins were soft. I expected a 95+ point wine. I drank a solid, 92 point wine instead. Nothing to complain about. I have one more bottle. I don’t regret the purchase, and I will enjoy that second bottle soon.

Revisited 4 days after opening; finally, this is the generous slug of black olive and chocolate I didn't know I wanted Wish I hadn't wasted 1200 ml getting to this point Wine should be loved, not given the side eye

Dark chocolate on days 4 through 7 of a week spent intermittently appreciating, if not completely understanding, this very black wine, is the only thing I'd add to this discussion. Otherwise, I defer to the excellent November 29th, 2019 review

Deep color. Tobacco and tree bark. Medium weight. Chewy and savory old style Chateauneuf, still with a slug of remaining tannin. Not at all fruit driven or sweet. Wonderfully hearty full flavored winter wine.

2h decant. Baking spice and dark berry fruit nose. Medium-full bodied, smooth and balanced. Fruit restrained. Needs more air or bottle time. A little reticent today. Try again in 12 months.

Decanted for sediment. Full and dense garnet color. Aromatics of black cherry & plum, saddle leather & smoked meats, garrigue, and black tea spices. Dark and concentrated palate, with terrific black fruit intensity along with deep depth of dried lavender, allspice berries and crushed stone. Full-bodied, with thick and plush middle-palate structure and just enough acidity to sharpen the corners. Big, dense and broad grainy tannins. Good length to the finish. Still youthful and just starting to loosen up, primary/secondary, drink with a decant or hold.

Consumed over the course of 3 days. This wine is a MONSTER! Not for the faint of heart. Deep iodine color and lip smacking tannins. Needs time to shed its baby fat. Drink 2020-2030+

Southern Rhone visit - May 2, 2014; 5/8/2014-5/20/2014: Winery visit- Dark ruby color. Aromas of red cherry and plum fruit, with spice, melted rock, lavender and earth. Silky and polished on the palate adding layered notes of black tea, spice and red fruit. Fine tannins and medium acid. Full long finish. Very deep and complex, a great wine with a long life ahead.

Deep in color, with enough to fill two bottles of wine, this intense, powerful and balanced, with silky textures and layers of fresh, ripe, kirsch, flowers and herbs. Philippe Cambie acts as the consultant at this organically, farmed domaine.
