A wonderful and still fresh contrast to the Rivers Marie. Pretty fruit, nice balance and an altogether pleasant profile. Some nice earthy complexity weaves its way into the flavor profile. Drink soon but no rush. (91)

Seems a bit richer than other Anthill offerings, but still a light-bodied wine. Tart cherries and cranberries and a whole lot of autumnal baking spices (cloves, nutmeg, etc).

90 min. open showing a combintion of flavor of cranberry and pomegranite which were a bit tart, finishing with orange rind; leaving the overall feeling of a bit of bitterness. Levels of tannin and acid seemed fine it was just the overall flavors that were a bit of an odd duck for me. My wife liked it more than I.

First pour was clear and almost surprisingly sweet. Second pour was cloudy, rank and undrinkable. This is the second of two like bottles. Major disappointment.

Seems to have filled out a bit since my last bottle 4 years ago. It's certainly still a very bright, higher acid wine but there's a decent amount of earthiness to balance it. At its core it's still typical anthill profile, light, cranberry, and acid.

Bright cranberry with super tart acidity. A bit screechy. Strawberry rhubarb. Nose, with air, shows a bit more development than flavor profile. Good thing i like this style.

Light purple and garnet color. The expressive nose was a lovely, youthful expression of red cherry and raspberry coupled with subtle floral notes. The palate leans toward tart end of the spectrum - raspberry, cranberry, and wild strawberry. The midpalate seemed slightly watery, but with air, it filled out nicely. Structurally, there is vibrant acidity in this light-bodied wine, and the finish follows through with the tart profile. Overall, I find this wine to be tart, but not underripe, at present, but I believe it will fill out with aging and become quite lovely.

Notes of juicy tart red berries (strawberry, raspberry), forest floor, spice, mineral with nuances of citrus and earth on palate. Loads of crisp acidity on this light:mid bodied PN with fine tannins and ending with a moderate finish. This still has much life yet and should get better IMHO.

Poured out two glasses 45 min before serving. Ruby red all the way through. Strong aromatics of cherry, strawberry & some spicy notes. One you can sniff on repeat. Medium bodied with high acidity. This has quite a bit of life ahead. Bright pomegranate & tart cherry flavors. Good intensity through the mid palate & silky tannins accentuate the finish. I enjoyed the Peters bottling a bit more now, but this has potential to be even better a few years from now.

Bright, pure, balanced. Drinking very nicely now. Not sure if I can distinguish between the Anthill pinots - they are all very similar to me, although delicious.

Tart, not much tannin, good acid, light mouthfeel but a bit of a short and bitter finish. The first red my wife could tolerate post-pregnancy, for whatever that's worth. Could be very good if it fills out a bit and the finish lengthens as it ages...we'll see.

Nice nose of crushed flowers, black raspberry and cherry, fruit it quite upfront on initial taste, that seems to hollow on the mid palate and the finish could be a bit longer

Garnet and cloudy (unfiltered?). Smells like any other well-made California Pinot. Tastes like one too but with a bit more acid and structure that makes me think this one is in it for the long haul. This is very good wine, but I can't help thinking that all these CA pinots are so similar...

Ruby red center with violet rim. Lovely nose of orange blossom, rose petals, cherry, and red raspberry. The palate is packed with tart cherry, and cranberry. Vibrant acidity and light-bodied with a moderate finish.

Light purple already moving towards red: in the nose, cola, a little green paper, forest floor, strawberry
Beautiful mouthfeel; sweet, perhaps a little too, though plenty of acidity at the end, as well as darker notes after the strawberry/raspberry in the middle; young; closed down; but fun! Not only is this wine distinguished by what it promises, but its balance stands out: like a really well-dressed person, modestly making his way down the street, exhibiting, w/out overplaying, impeccable taste.

2hr decant... 13,1% abv. Very pretty, light translucent garnet color, highly aromatic nose, very floral on the nose with some pine, little forest floor on top of some fresh crushed red berry fruit and a little spice. Bright high toned red berry fruit, cranberry, Pomegranite, savory and with some minerality...very fresh, lots of acid, little citrus aspect. Pretty delicate stuff. Definite upside with time, as I think it could pick up some complexity, and hopefully flesh out a bit on the finish.

Just not a fan. Not a lot going on. Rather tart with sour cherry. Again not a lot going on and will probably pass on Anthill in the future. 2010 across the board was rather disappointing.

May have been too early for this one. Cloudy appearance. Nice nose of cherry and spice. Palate dominated by tart cherry and somewhat disjointed acidity. Missing that delicate mouthfeel and saline/mineral note I find appealing in a lot of their bottlings.

Very Nice!! Loving this little winery. This is raspberry red, and cloudy unfiltered in the glass. But wow does this bouquet open in the glass. Have a nice bowl on your stem, and the fresh blossoms just leap from the glass. Opened within an hour to a great light red berry and rhubbarb pie blend. This has all kinds of good things going on. Could not help ourselves and finished the whole bottle. Well done!!

Has that combination of cool fruit, sap, and spice that I associate with Anthill. The nose os gorgeous -- ripe red berry fruit, a cool sappy/eucalyptus note and a complex yet silky spiciness with some dried flowers in the background. The flavor is dominated by wood and tannin at this point with tart acidity. I can't wait to see where this goes once the wood and tannin integrate. Should be a great wine in several years.

drank over 4 days. Second day wine was spectacular and complex. Recommend a long decant to approach those flavors, or waiting a few years. This particular bottle was slightly corked (I seem to be sensitive to that, sadly) but drank well on day 1 and day 2; was only noticed on day 4. Was refrigerated and vacuumed between the days.

The aromatics are perfumed and ethereal, with lively florals, fresh strawberry/cherry, ginger, and white pepper arising from the glass. The palate follows suit, opening with cool and complex red berries overlaying violets and baking spice. Plum tomato and dried green herbs arise on the mid-palate, later yielding to the endless finish of tart strawberry, crushed rock, fresh mint, red licorice, and orange peel. The wine is effortless on the palate with real direction and acid lift. This is light to medium bodied but captures vivid flavors. This is a fantastic style of pinot. R&M 92

Nose is very nice, notes of cola, perfume, flowers, fresh linens, and fresh dark fruit, while palate is well balanced with good acids and mild tannins. Finish is way, way too short tho, and the wine has to be graded down several points for this.

Opened and poured, this wine gave a very good showing with a impressive aromatics. The medium bodied palate keeps this wine from giving a more compelling showing. It this stage the palate shows a short to medium finish and lacks overall balance and concentration. This wine will likely benefit from an additional year or two of bottle age.
