Much sweeter than expected - are Vouvrays supposed to be sweet? That said (or asked) it's a great little wine, full bodied, nicely balanced and perfect for a summer evening. I bet it would be great with cantaloupe...

A happy little bottle of Vouvray for under $10. Not going to change any lives, but pretty good chilled in the summer. Sort of like white grape juice with some more acidity-- basically, not too complex but didn't need to be for the price. Alcohol was a bit noticeable, if I recall.

I will withhold a complete review until I can get my hands on more bottles. This was one of the best white I've had this year. Creamy, balanced, complex, and delicious.

This would be a good wine for people who prefer mild but interesting white wines with some flavor. Tested 20 min air time at 55 deg F, flavor changed (richer fruit) as it warmed and aired. Nose of light pear and honey and mineral. Balanced in the mouth ripe almost rich almost sweet and almost chewy fruit (pear, pink grapefruit or kumquat, orange) with a bit of grassiness, a touch of glycerin and a bit of mineral (stone) that transitions into a mild acid kick. Dry to off-dry. Body medium, acid medium minus. 12% abv (a pleasure to have lower alcohol). Good QPR as tested, about USD8.

Delicious bottle for the price. Notes of honey, apple, pear and crisp minerality. Sweet with a fair amount of acidity.
