Was a little bit tight a year or so ago but has opened up now. Good cool climate cabernet fruit, good body, balanced and nice length but probably a bit short in comparison with the usual heavy hitters. Very enjoyable mid week quaffer with food. 89

Good cabernet fruit (red & dark berries). Good colour and body, nice length, lingering taste, grippy tannins, a touch of licorice in the aftertaste. Good for 5 plus years imo. Good value for the dollars.

My last bottle. Needs time to open up and stabilise. Probably was a bit critical on the last bottle. Strong tannins making a firm dry, lengthy finish. Wouldn't throw out in the wash water! Good drinking right now.

Deep dark crimson hue, bright nose of dark cherries, lined with strong backbone of vanilla oak. Slight undertones of plum & earth which transitions to peppery notes at medium length upon decanting. Firmly medium body, medium to heavy tannin with slight fruitiness. Savoury on the palate, nicely balanced with a pretty smooth mouthfeel. Long dry finish with a slight vegetal, liquorice aftertaste. Good wine for the price, however not overly impressive.

Pretty simple. Blackberry & raspberry nose. One dimensional palate. Simple berry fruit, fairly good acid structure but not really much tannin or structure. Drink now, won't be long lived.

Not up to the level of the 2009. A bit simple, straightforward and doesn't really speak of purpose or place. Doesn't lack punch for what is a medium bodied wine but the red fruit don't really have any character. Nice powdery tannin to finish.

I have enjoyed drinking these of the last 5 years, however the wine is starting to fade and show its age in a bad way. A bit past its peak now.

Great balance, still showing primary fruit. Ripper for the price. Should go another few years at least. Like.

Not showing as much age as I would have thought. Good dark berries, full flavoured, relatively short on the finish

Rich dark colour. Nothing exceptional by nose but solid fruit upfront and long dry finish makes up. A reliable Hilltops vintage

Ripe blackcurrant, blackberry and mulberry, plus herbs and chocolatey oak. Well balanced, tannin structure spot on, and decent persistence.

Rather disappointing given the brand/hype.
