Cocoa powder and sandalwood on the nose. Light- to medium-bodied with bright acidity and ample red fruit on the entry, followed by a thin vein of blueberry. Gentle tannins and a moderately lengthy finish. Paired well with herb-roasted chicken. 91 pts

A lot of Pinot Noirs (My backyard): I have always been fond of these wine. This is very nice. Cherries and cranberries on the nose. There is a nice complexity already settling in on the wine. Medium bodied. Not too ripe but not green. Nice acidity.

Incredible aromatics, texture, and acid for the price point. Rosehips, raspberry, and rhubarb notes throughout. Bracing and delicious. Serious wine that drinks well above its price point. 90-91.

Initial pour (2 people, three pours ea, two hours) was fabu--plummy fruit with loamy earth and fungal notes, a wine maturing nicely--but subsequent glasses faded progressively. This wine's done.

Fresh, lively aromas of chalky red berries, florals, and spice. Light to medium bodied flavors of sweet red pinot fruit contrast nicely with linear tart cranberry, tea, and, cinnamon, and orange zest. This has fantastic refreshing acidity throughout the palate, though it could use a bit more length on the finish. A very nicely styled appellation pinot. R&M87.

Ordered a bottle of this along with a strip steak at Vine Street restaurant on Shelter Island and it was completely overpowered by the meat. There was some nice fruit there, but overall I found this to be very thin and too light... it just felt like it was missing something.

Classic Oregon Pinot, if not a tad simple. Black cherry and sandalwood on the nose, and black cherry soda, sawdust and a skosh of venison on the palate. Nice mouthfeel too, although it's no '08.

You have to applaud the producer for making pinots...not syrah or rhone blends labeled as pinot. This to me is very Burgundian; light extraction, elegant red fruit, and good acid. A brief beam of cherry in the midpalate reiterates that comparison. As tasty as this is it would be hard to compare this to a good Bourgogne.

Mild burnt wood and baking spice on the nose, along with a slight floral element. Dark cherry, sweet, vanilla extract, and wild flower honey on the tongue.

Adelsheim is a very old label in the Willamette Valley and seems to always produce good wine. This 2010 Pinot is a translucent garnet colored wine with a nose of strawberry, loam, forest floor and hints of black pepper. The mouth feel is medium with nice fruit, acidic middle and firm tannin.

Bright and lively with fairly ripe fruit on nose, but great acid on the palate to back it up....fairly lean on the palate despite the ripeness that comes through on the nose...clean and mostly fruit driven...

One of the 1st Pinot way back when that I really enjoyed and still my go to pinot to fill the void as it can be found in a lot of stores locally. Super classic, forrest floor, fungus, baking spices, strawberry fruit. Nice acids and great balance. Always enjoy this wine.

Lush, racy red berry nose. Red and black raspberry, strawberry and light sage on the nose. On the palate, tangy raspberry and a streak of dark chocolate. Some blue fruit on the mid palate. Cedar. Good acid. Nice, lighter style.

Nice ruby color. The nose was not that impressive. Some fresh cut grass & red fruit. Initial impression was untie fruit. Almost to bitter to enjoy. It's young & tight & I wasn't that impressed.

Pop & pour. 13.4% a.b.v. Medium to light maroon color. Thick, slow-forming legs. Initial nose is honeydew melon, fresh cut grass, a citrus note, and a little ripe plum in the background. Initial palate is quite tart and lean- more acidity than fruit, with a green streak running through the middle. One-dimensional, nervy, flat. A hint of concentration on the backend, but not enough to boost up the hollow center. The finish is puckery. Based on the alcohol level, one would assume that the grapes reached some satisfactory level of ripeness (or some degree of chapitalization), yet there's a distinct herbaceous/green quality here that trumps any notion of richness or voloptuousness. Drinking this made me think about picking berries (raspberries, strawberries, take your pick [pun intended]), and popping one in your mouth that isn't quite ripe. 2010 was a tough year in the valley. Winemakers and grapegrowers really had to be on their game; and when they were, they made some exquisite wine...

Nice light intensity nose os black cherry, cola. On taste a light but dark fruit and cola flavors. Reminds me of Alsace pinot noir. Elegant, refined and a breath of fresh air in the usual overextracted style from the west coast.
