  • Golden brown color. Surprised to find this wine upright and still reasonably fresh and enjoyable. More honey than lemon on the palate, medium plus viscosity, with resolved oak. Graceful finish, medium in length. Easily the class of a decent group of older wines tonight. Appeared to have been a passively stored bottle.

  • Tasted at Farmhouse Evanston from a pristinely stored bottle from Kent Cellars.
Darker golden color. Looked as though it may be heavily oxidized. Not the case.
This couldn't have been at a better point for a 1979 Napa Chardonnay.
Lovely nose of dark roast nuts and slightly dried fruit. The palate, however, is fresh and much more vibrant still showing nice acidity believe it or not.
