So yummy, fresh, elegant and full of energy. Makes a mockery of the concept that WV Pinots don’t age with class. Always been a fan of the 10s over the 08s. Classy juice.

In wonderful condition and drinking really well. Plenty of fresh flavour and added complexity from bottle age. Paired with Jadot anniversarie Beaune 1er Cru from 2009 and they were both superb examples of Pinot at pinnacle. A tad fresher and brighter.

Found this wine drinking really well at the moment. Clear rim and a little aged balsamic notes let you know wine is at the back end of its life but there is still enough acidity to keep it fresh and drinking well. Light but with a nice firm tannins structure

Easy living, easy drinking, fun for the whole family. Plums and canned peaches, some tiny tar and leather notes, a little round but a slightly tannic mouthfeel. Drinking window=now-2025ish is my best guess. Just lovely.

A this price point more deserving Pinots out there. A Russian River Sojourn would smoke this wine for the same $$. Not terrible, but wouldn't go out of my way to seek this out. Sour cherry/raspberry with rough herbal finish.

Performances from the Summer of 2016: Oregon pinot from top-flight producers are some of the more reliable buys out there (if you like this kind of stuff) – this was textbook, cool-climate, high-toned pinot fruit that was nicely acidic while showcasing delicious sour cherry fruit follwed by a dark cherry, herbal finish.

A classic Pinot nose of dark fruit and earth and spice, dark ruby in color. A medium to full bodied Pinot Noir, black cherry, raspberry, spices on finish , a solid and well valued Pinot. www.winelx.com

Light red; aromas and flavors of strawberries and bright fruit and cola flavors with some floral...burgundy; as it opened up it became more CA (a little more smoke and tar); nice clean and soft finish. I think that this is best a little on the cooler side.

Paired this with Peking Duck at dinner with Flo last night. An easy drinking wine, not a lot of nose, but enjoyable strands of cherry, oak, walnut, and a faint hint of spice on the palette. Not a ton of dimension, but very well structured with little or no acidity. Dark purplish color. We finished it over a 2-hour period. We did not notice that it opened up appreciably over that time. A bit tight, with an abrupt finish marked by some tannin. A nice bottle of wine.

Surprising nose of annis, red licorice, and dark spices. Nice medium body, bigger than most Oregon Pinots, but good balance. Not too complex, hard to pull out and distinguish the undertones but very easy drinking.

Very enjoyable, nice easy sipper. On the lighter side, some cranberry and tart cherry… maybe just a touch too tart/bitter on the finish to push it over the top for us. Would happily drink again though...

Nose of cherry, red fruit; tart cherry on the palate with a hint of spice; more structure for a pinot than most... Thick and closer to the style of pinot I'm discovering I llike. Makes we want to try more from Shea, although to keep it real, this was fairly one dimensional...

Second try for this wine. After a day of tasting many wonderful Willamette Valley wines today, we opening this with dinner and it was one of the best wines we tried all day. A very dark fruit version of Oregon Pinot, with savory fruit and a nice lingering finish. Worth seeking for QPR, at "only" $40. (P.S. Tasted barrel samples of five 2012 Shea Cellars single-block wines today and they will be really outstanding.).

Really disappointed in this after having some amazing bottles from shea in past years. This was more in the california style than Oregon - perhaps I opened it too early?

Cherry-vanilla on the nose, deep dark red in color. The cherry-vanilla carries over to the palate with an uncanny precision. Tasty and inviting even if it's a "bigger" Pinot than I otherwise might prefer.

This wine has solid potential. A big wine with good structure, and much better with a couple of hours of air. Dark fruits on the nose and palate, with solid/balanced structure and a nice finish. Very nice.

Pop and pour and served with food. There is a richness to the nose and to the wine. Dark cherries mixed with some earthy spices. There is a rich core of dark fruit but wrapped in a velvety texture. Inviting.

Served single blind in a Thanksgiving tasting of 2010 pinots from various winemakers all from the shea vinyard. The lineup included offerings from St. Innocent, Winderlea, Broadley, Shea, Penner-Ash and Autuer's Ophelia and this offering was generally seen as forth in the line up. A bit more brisk and weighty than some of the others, but well received. Showed a darker fruit profile than the others and was tart.

A bit lighter in the middle than I expected from Shea. Ummm... only $42. I guess I was expecting $60. Is this a price reduction on thier part? Worth a retaste.

Wider palate than one would expect for a pinot. There is a predominant berry flavor but the berry flavor is more of a heavy grape than the typical pinot. The duration is somewhat longer than a typical pinot but there is not a lot of diversity of the palate.

Memorial Day Weekend & Eyrie South Block Reserve Pinots (Willamette Valley, Oregon): Plenty of oak here, with mild fruit. Very forward on the palate. Feels like a California Pinot Noir. Quite soft, with no real tannins or acid present; it's just soft unstructured red fruit. A little grippy on the finish, but this odd coating notion that I don't like.
