Served double blind, I was sure it was an over the hill Pauillac. I was surprised to discover it was from one of the worst vintages of the decade. Still, some pleasure could be found in the light red fruits and cassis, with its tobacco notes on top. While very light, it was not a bad wine.

An easy evening with close friends (@ PdV): This bottle seems to be completely different from the one I tasted 4 months ago. The bouquet is expressive with good oak and cassis. Same for the taste. The tannin is mainly soft. There is fresh and good acidity. Medium bodied and some complexity.

Carmine. The bouquet is like a good Burgundy. Pleasant oak. The tannin is very soft and there is a lot of acidity. Long aftertaste. Although I liked the wine it was impossible to recognize a Pauillac.
