Drank a lot of this wine over the last 10 years-assorted vintages. Slightly past its prime. Popped and poured. Nose of leather, smoke, soy sauce? Red fruit a little tired but present, and wine is very smooth for first hour or so. Still enjoyable. Finish has hints of spice but wine is still luscious.

Deep ruby. Meaty nose shows blackberries, currants, licorice, cinnamon bark, and an underlying note of raw, Peruvian black olives. Rich and expressive, concentrated and masculine, it's a big wine that needs a bit of air to show its best. Displays fine length, ample tanning, black fruit flavors that turn savory, and spices on the finish.

Deep purple in the glass, immediate nose of blackberry, likely drinking at its peak, delicious integration and balance of fruit, tannins, acid and wood. Palate is expressive with a hint of rum raisin, berries, black plum, cacao and tobacco leaf. Long lingering finish invites another sip. Very nice.

Nice plum and dark fruit flavors on both the nose and palate with a medium to long finish. Did a compare and contrast with a 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape and did quite well and both wines went nicely with the roast pork loin with sage and fontina stuffing wrapped in prosciutto and apple compote.

Enjoyed with some good friends before dinner with a little cheese! Great aroma of dark berries and a little smoke, showing a deep purple color. Rich and full bodied with lots of dark fruits and well placed tannins. Definitely a great wine at this price.

Dark, inky purple wine with blueberries, cedar and pine on the nose and palate. Full bodied with a long pleasing finish. Highly recommended. I wish that I had more.

The 88 is from day 3 (opened Friday and drank Monday)- this wine needs some time- but IMHO will never been great and an okay QPR @ $30+. Wine is a tad sweet and ok fruit- very syrah driven- cool weather syrah. Alc still coming through. Some dark berries and spice on the finish with a medium finish. On Friday the wine was a mess and too sweet. Glad to try, but money could be better spent else where. Drank better alone than with food. Overall good- but expected more.

A fruit forward, new world style Rhone style blend. A very good wine on it's own or with lots of meaty food. Deep purple with aromas of black berries, plum, chocolate and cedar. Full bodied mouthfeel, decent balance, slightly higher alcohol to acid balance but the tannins keep it in check. Voluptuous and sexy wine! May or may not age well, too early to know but without the acid it might get flabby after five or so years. Very enjoyable by itself and with some cheese and bread.

Nice dark fruit with good acidity and balance. A little smoke on the mid palette and medium finish. Went nicely with meatloaf dinner.
