One of the best QPRs I know of, although the 94 score is fully earned -- not price adjusted. What I found particularly intriguing was the significant sassafras-note finish. The same way some pinot's have that strong cola note, after every taste I kept thinking "birch beer" although not in a bad way.

Drinking in a pretty good spot now. It could definitely cellar for a while longer but no need to wait. A little riper and this higher in alcohol than I typically appreciate but a tasty beverage nonetheless.

Dark in the glass in a fine way. Lush and full. Blue fruit, earth, leather. Syrah in the back seat, still. Touch heat on the medium finish. Decant would soften the edges but sharp is good, too. Chewy (not the Star Wars type) is a good representation.Drink now. You'll be stoked.

Dark purple garnet and heavy in the glass. Nose of black fruit, raspberry, BBQ, pepper, tobacco, coffee and cocoa. Full body with dark, brambly dark fruit and pepper on the palate. Supporting complexity with secondary notes of beef blood, pine nuts, BBQ, mushroom and developed plum. Pleasing tannic structure. Long finish. Much less monolithic than other Sans Liege reds and showing integration in its youth.

Aerated to decanter 30 minutes, could have used 6 hours, this sucker's tight! Dark, as expected, with aromas that require substantial coaxing before they'll even consider joining the party. As the nose suggests, the palate confirms, this is simply wound too tightly right now. At this stage of development, the Mourvedre, 34%, (Mike & Ike candies, galore) overwhelms the Syrah component, 66%, which is very withdrawn, with slight detergent and painfully shy red and black fruit notes offering little in the way of real enjoyment right now. Give this another year, or two or three. Certainly one of the more structured and least approachable of this bottling I can recall. 15,6% abv, 138 cases. Drink thru 2019

Brought to a party and very well received. Can't really do a formal note but there was plenty of fruit with solid structure. I liked this wine. I hope Curt continues to make wines like this. Yummy

My god this stuff is just sooo appealing. Young and unruly in one sense but wildly captivating in another. Sexy, raw, primal. Not the one you'd take home to meet mom... this is booty call juice.
A huge syrupy wine. Similar to some of the Linne Calodo wines I've had. Thus, this is not for everyone but for some it's exactly what they want. Unfortunately it's not for me. Just huge brooding fruit with a touch of spice on the back. No real flavor to me because it's so massive. Immensely extracted with eclipse type black color.

Hedonistic. Compelling. Irrestible. Full bodied and quite rich with a flavor profile that is nothing short of addictive. Simply delicious.

An inky beauty. Juicy, ripe, chewy. Overnight finish.

Dense dark and fruity. Not particularly enjoyable. Think I'll let the second bottle sit for quite a while before I try this again.
