Ruby, garnet with med-heavy viscosity in the glass. Nose of cherry pie, black forest cake, Almond Roca, strawberry and earth. Med-full body with plush black cherry, earth, toast and nutty cocoa on the palate. Pleasant balance of weight and structure. Superb mouthfeel, but lacking complexity. Medium finish. Good, but can find better California Grenache at this price.

Opened very tight and tart, but only 30 minutes of air brought it to life. Very nice red fruit, a bit of spice, full, with a smooth finish. A good expression of Grenache. However, i didn't taste much in the way of complexity, or want to write home about it. This is the weakest delivery of any previous vintage of their Purisma Grenache, which has an outstanding record. In my opinion the 2010 is not worth the $.

Such a good wine for a party, as it is very accessible and requires no decant. While novices will enjoy its smoothness, it still has enough complexity to satisfy the more sophisticated sippers.

Beckmen owns this varietal in California! Extremely smooth with red berries on the nose and dark red berries on the palate and just enough alcohol to keep it interesting. A big hit at the Dorchester Team Party!

Tight upon PnP, and a bit out of balance, but after 30 minutes and second glass, this really came around, exhibiting really nice red fruit and smoothing out significantly. Suggest a brief decant next time.

Perhaps opened this a tad early (particularly for my wife's taste), but still enjoyed. Good fruit aromas leading to a cherry cola and mineral showing on the palate. Quite smooth and a nice lingering finish.

'Smells like the inside of a balloon.' A very edge-y expression of Grenache on the palate.
-Highest elevation sites in Ballard Canyon tend to be of higher temps.
-Ripeness with freshness, Rotundone not blown our by excessive ripeness.

Really elegant, having settled in to its age. A little less fruit than prior bottles, but still quite enjoyable.

Really nice strawberries with a touch of graphite peaking through the slightly rough tannins.

Consistent with prior notes. Once again won over a crowd not yet familiar with Grenache with its smoothness. A great opening bottle for a party.

Pop and pour. Similar to 4/13 tasting note but was more dense and concentrated.
