Decent cab for price. Decent structure and mouthfeel. Red fruit with green finish. Beats most domestic cabs in this price range, in that it actually tastes like a Cab.

Super Big nose of sweet red berries. Like Jam. Almost zin like. Think mouth coating flavors with smooth tannin . Clean correct Cab. Juicy and very good.

Not as good as previous vintages it seems; lacks power and structure. Still good, but not worth keeping any longer. Reminded me of decent cheap bordeaux, more than a 100% cab from the new world. I'd almost swear there was a fair percentage of merlot in this wine...

At Valparaiso (Restaurante Turri), enjoying a good lunch watered by a traditional Chilean wine. That kind of wine is always in my mind when I am thinking about chilean wine tastes.

Day 1: Very unlike previous vintages of this wine. Dary ruby color. Immediately ripe and jammy on the nose with gobs of hot fruit which continued to the palate with ripe jammy blackberry flavors. This is typically a wine with surprising finesse for the money with good fruit and tannin and a lovely earthiness to the wine. This bottle had none of that charm. Left for 5 days and retasted: Much better. Some earthiness and less fruit. Still ripe and rich but not as jammy. More expressive. Still not up to previous vintages. Score revised from 80 to 83

Enjoyable as usual for a weeknight drinker. This is great for family dinners. I bought 18 of these at Costco, and each one acts a little different. It took about an hour to open up (as usual), but wasn't drinking too well a few hours later. A previous bottle just sang after an hour. Come to think of it, we had that during a dinner with the in-laws and it didn't make it through dinner. The bottom line is: give it an hour and then finish it off. Certainly not built (or priced) for anything other than drinking over the next year.

Stinky French nose - I have had this wine often and this is not characteristic of it.

The 2003 edition proves again that this wine is a consistently good quaffer, year-after-year, with very good QPR for stocking up for larger groups.
