I fell in love with Martian Ranch Grenache (Noir) at Rhone Rangers LA this year, so was excited to try the GB, especially after it was selected by Jon Bonne with Two Shepherds and Kinero.
Interesting vinifcation techniques, showing again how GB does better with creativity: Whole cluster pressed. Settled for one week in stainless steel tank at 45 degrees no SO2 added. Racked to 22 HL foudre and stainless steel barrels. Primary fermentation with indigenous yeast lasted approximately eight weeks. 100% Malolactic fermentation was completed. Aged for six months in foudre. Cold stabilized, no fining, light filter for clarity.
Color is a bright yellow straw. Fun nose of lemon, orange peel, notes of tropical fruit In the Mouth - a fun wine: Lusher than Two Shepherds, like juicy fruit, with a bit less minerality. An easy quaffer. Tempted to bench trial blend my Two Shepherds 2011 with this to combine the minerality with their great fruit and see what it produces. :)
A fun, easy drinking wine that should please almost everyone. Serve them Rombaeur and snicker if not.

A little better than my last bottle. Still a little sharp, but this has good Grenache blanc character.

A little sharp on opening, but that mostly blew off. This is a pleasant example of the variety.

Had with cod. Intense citrus, lots of acidity. May have some skin contact. Interesting and A VG value.
