Wonderful stuff! After finishing my various 20 year old Cru-Beaujolais I decided to begin opening up the next generation - my 10+ year olds. This Saint-Amour was drinking spot on. Still bright and supple enough to be youthful but with the kind of depth and nuance that comes from a few more years of bottle age. Maybe its just me, but I have been very lucky/successful in storing and ageing various Cru Beaujolais and I encourage everyone I know with a decent cellar to give it a try.

This is my second bottle (first in 2014) that, while not flawed in any discernable way, hardly showed a thing. Finally on day three a bit of red cherry poked its head through. The structural notes seem to be integrating. I'll try my last bottle in a few more years hoping for the best.

Very good stuff. Billards still comfortably rests as one of the least talked about great Beaujolais producer - and I'm happy it stays that way. Tons of floral notes, with lovely red fruit and earth. Complex, energetic and utterly delicious.

Quite austere - perhaps shut down - but I prefer a bit more fruit and verve in my bojos.

lively dark fruits, good acidity, but there is some meat with this one. more interesting than your standard Beaujolais.

very light and fruity. Mouth feel is soft and the acid makes it mouth watering. Great with pork or poultry. long finish.

Great mouthfeel and young fruitiness. Light hints of cherry. Wish more French wines took on this character!
