Nice rich feel, black/blue berry flavors that melt into a very pleasing long finish. Being for '09 it reflects the wisdom of a prior winemaker that seems to have gotten muddled in the more recent offerings from Stonestreet.

A fabulous blend of deep rich berries, balanced tannins, long finish and lovely hints of chocolate and a perfect earthy balance. Dried fruit aroma as it opened creating a lasting flavour and wonderful experience. A small amount of sediment but overall lovely rich garnet colour and round finish allowing a smooth and lasting taste. Great to experience again and compare.

Really nice wine that has aged well. It changes with decanting - we decanted 1 hour. Nice to sip, but great with food. A little higher acidity than anticipated.

Expected a more mature profile - surprised by fresh fruit, oak, cassis and vanilla. Medium finish, great with grilled loin lamb chops. Years left if you wish!

Decanted for about an hour before dinner, but not sure it needed it. Was spectacular at opening. No tasting notes, but this is Sonoma cab at its prime. Has some Napa qualities ... not surprising given the location. Based on this bottle, I would drink within the next 5 years. Phenomenal.

Has aged well. Still has a lot of fruit taste, but is definitely subdued. Tannins are very soft. Medium mouth feel. Sustained finish. Great with food and great to just sip.

Wafts of cigar, cedar, and campfire smoke. This wine is drinking beautifully now. Ripe black fruit, fig, and a slight tartness near the finish. This higher elevation Alexander Valley fruit has again impressed. 92+ points.

Holy smokes this was good. Tremendous depth without being over powering. Smoky and rich with serious Alexander valley terroir. I'd much prefer this to a $50 napa cab.

Deep black plum color. Dusty, earthy, and mossy on the nose. Heavy legs. Tart blackberry, with tobacco on the palate. Dry, heavy mid palate, somewhat of a quick finish. Better the second night. Wine doesn't represent the price.

Given how the last bottle drank (on 2/21/14) I wanted to kill off this last bottle. While similar to the last one this bottle had much more energy (better acid and tannin levels) and merits a 90.

Last tasting notes on 4/13/13. Nice (and oddly enough mature) Cab that has similar attributes to the last bottle but seems flat. Not sure if this bottle is slightly off as it has ample tannins and fruit but lacks any depth or dimension. 89 points based on this bottle but hope my last one shows far better than this one. Even at a great sale price of $25/btl this is somewhat disappointing.

This was a real treat but wish the price in Ontario was closer to the community average. Purple and opaque. The nose is smokey tobacco leaf, plumbs, cherries, vanilla and cedar. Ripe mature fruit with a generous mouthfeel and and balanced acidity. Finish is velvety. 5+13+17+8=92

Nice Cab for the price in an unmistakeable, modern style. Quite ripe, plummy fruit with soft tannins. Would partner well with a burger - and seems like a wine to drink now or in the very near future.

This was enjoyed by all, silky tannis and fat mouthfeel. Mocha and dark berries. Would have liked a little more balance from this sweet fruit, but still a very nice wine.

Surprisingly smooth given that this is still young. Silky tannins, strong blueberry, black cherry and vanilla flavors. Almost a little too sweet - could use a little more acid to balance the strong fruit. Medium length finish.
This is ready to drink now, but should continue to develop over the next several years.
Decent QPR - worth grabbing a few more bottles if I can find for a good price again.

Mineral and olive nose. Opened and left to air in bottle for 45m. On the palate this wine is still a bit tight however there are definitely good things going on that will show even better later in life. I detected some dark fruit, a touch of vanilla, mineral/stone, spice. Tannins were not overbearing. A little more age will do this bottle some good.

Nose: Dusty, black fruits with some mineral and vanillan hints. Palate: Big yet rounded tannins with the black fruits and a soft but medium length finish. Good structure and while not overly complex is drinking well now which is surprising given it is only a 2009 and an SVD offering from Stonestreet. I would have thought this would need a Vinituri or a lengthy decant, but is is ready now with a pop and pour. Drink over the next year.

Soft, sillky and sweet, with layers of ripe, cassis, fennel and spicy black cherries, the wine is forward in style and already delivering pleasure. Napa is more often than not, on the expensive side of the price to quality range. This wine represents one of the better values for a high quality, Caberent Sauvignon wine I've tasted in ages from Northern California.
