This one is ready to go. Huge nose of mushrooms, licorice, black cherry. Med body, med acidity, integrated tannins still present enough to provide good structure. Balanced palate matches the nose with a delicious combination of fruit and earth, leather, mushroom flavors. This wine surpassed expectations. Very good and seems to have at least 5 more good years left.

The note from two years ago holds, with some refinement in the mouthfeel, this has a very silky balance to the low tannins and acidity, with a great finish to go along with it.

Jammy, tart out of the bottle, evened out after 30 minutes in the decanter. This wine will age well for a couple more years but is ready to drink now with an hour or two of air.

Aromas of licorice, rose petals and paint thinner. Tannic but approachable with flavors of cherries, roast meat, porcini mushroom and lavender. Very structured and moderately acidic. Still quite tannic but developing nicely.

Two hour decant, opaque purple in the glass, the bouquet is classic brunello with bing cherries, rhubarb, a hint of gravel and licorice. The palate remains true to the nose with no tannins and a crisp bite from the acid. Medium bodied with a solid mouthfeel and a medium length finish, overall a great QPR for what I got my hands on it for. With a second bottle in the cellar I will give this another year before popping it.

Mushrooms and wet earth on the nose, with a hint of tobacco. Moderately rich cherry flavors with a lot of woody and forest-floor notes. Bright acidity. The finish tends towards juicy strawberries. Complex and structured.

Still showing great. Nice earth and cherry on the nose. Licorice cherry and light tannins. Lost a little on finish but was still great.

Really enjoyable brunello di montalcino, dark berries and hints of tobacco.
