Smelling and drinking rose potpourri. A subtle, delicate wine, light and weightless. Not a long finish but nonetheless delicious. I really enjoyed this.

A little unfair for this wine to follow one of the greatest Leroy flights I've ever tasted -- it was like putting a band on stage following James Brown, didn’t stand a chance. The color is lovely, slight menthol nose, and the wine is remarkably sweet. Finish is a bit woody, there's ample Vosne spice, and it's quite enjoyable. I really wish we had served this before the Leroy it would shown better.

Birthday Dinner with Good Wine (NEXT Restaurant - Chicago IL): Served alongside the 1959, this was very nice but far less exciting than its flightmate. Very mature red and black cherry with good woodsy spice throughout. Intense aromas of reduced mushrooms that was nice but less interesting on palate. No race to drink up, but this won't get more interesting going forward.

Dinner at Trelio (Clovis Ca.): Ex cellar…...beautiful old burgundy! Youthful(maybe some topoff?) delicate silky smooth berry fruit…med bodied with subtle leather, rose petal florals, sous bois, dusty old cellar, crushed minerals……not much "Flagey" spice ;-)……really held up well throughout the night, even becoming a chameleon showing some strawberry with herbs, coffee…….a solid 52 yr old here.

BN fill. Ex-Domaine. PnP and consumed over several hours at dinner. Mature, but surprisingly youthful. Slight bricking, but no browning. Beautiful nose of stewed red cherries, damp earth, leather, fresh herbs, and cooked strawberries. Medium bodied with a few very fine tannins remaining on the medium to long finish. Mostly red fruited palate. Balanced. As BURGANDY AL wrote, the palate was not as interesting as the aromatics. Blind I would've guesses at least 10-15 years younger. Held nicely throughout the evening.

Lovely wine, quite evolved in aromatics, but youthful as well. Sous bois, earth, but lovely red fruits and minerality. Subtle, fine and long on the palate absolutely delightful, with the grand echezaux power

lovely aromas and nose, just perhaps a bind short now, but a great wine and still drinking perfectly now.

Late release. Wine opened in 2+ hrs and lasted 2+ hrs. Smooth with some mint. Still have life. Enjoyable.

The 62 has even more fruit than the 59. This is also still a vibrant wine. Grands Echezeaux is really a wine that holds forever. Very good.

Lovely quite complex wine with layers of red fruit and minerals. This was the winner for me against 59,78 and 85
