Another excellent bottle of this. Wish I had more. This was fruity but complex, in a nice middle aged spot. Probably around peak but I suspect this one would have a long and enjoyable old age.

While I have admittedly never been a fan of this wine, I must admit that this bottle is the best I can recall a Ponzo ever tasting. As with most Ponzos this too was somewhat out of balance wine. Vibrant fruit casts off goodish amounts of Zin funk, rhubarb, balsamic and herbs (mint?). The finish is a touch heavy with vanilla. The medium mouthfeel hits just the right weight. 14.5% alc. A blend of 96% Zin and 4% Petite Sirah. With mushroom & pepperoni pizza. Recommended with Reservations.

Popped and poured. Opened pretty quickly. Lightweight for a zin. Deep plum fruit and a subtle, spicy earth finish. In a really great place right now. Very well balanced.

A raw, clunky, out of balance and never will be balanced funky Zin. Loaded with Zin funk, rhubarb, and herbal aspect. Oh, and the oak in it is also out of balance with too much vanilla. Little on the attack, less on the midpalate and nothing to recommend on the finish. 14.5% alc. With mushroom & sausage pizza. Not Recommended.

This is the best Zin I've had in a while. Explosive bouquet of raspberry, blueberry, cranberry, rose petal, and earthy notes. The palate is fantastically balanced compared to most Cali Zins. Rich, ripe, and fruit forward, but also with a lovely acidity, not too much alcohol, and a fantastic finish. This is the perfect wine with smoked meats or BBQ.

This wine is just too young and a mistake to open. While this is my least favorite bottling of Ridge’s Zins, being fair to this bottling requires giving this some more time. Just now it’s all raw power of funky Zin with rhubarb, red berries and an herbal, almost rosemary quality. Oaky and angular is the only way to describe the finish. 14.5% alc. With grilled sausages. Recommended with reservations.

Really nice zin with a dash of ps thrown in. Silky and smooth mouthfeel. Medium to full body with well structured flavors of red raspberry, red cherry, and dry hay. Long finish, lively acidity. A very well made wine.

The wine looks bright Ruby/Violet colored. The legs are Medium. On the nose: spice, tobacco, mild blackberry and raspberry. Subtle floral notes with white chocolate and lilac. Sweet delicate and fruity. On the palate: delicate with vanilla, cocoa, cherry and spice. Very easy to drink. Not very bold or complex. Very pretty and feminine. Light.

Delicious nose of brambles bad dark berries. Ripe red fruit on the palate with a fair amount of spice. A touch of green tannin on the finish. I'd give it a year or two, but I suspect this will reward near-term drinking.

Damn delicious. Light bodied and fruity, but with some earth and complexity to it.
Excellent on day 3 as well (after recorking on the counter).

Black cherry fruit and light minerality. It’s 96% Zin, already 6 years in bottle, but might get a little more complexity with another couple years.

Did very little. Lasted a few days more due to lack of interest. Average fruit, average finish, not exciting or complex

This is not a big California zin. Light to medium body. Tobacco and cherry notes. Pleasant and drinkable now.

Unique nose (almost pinot-like). Too sweet, very fruit forward - too fructose-y with a very short finish.

50th Harvest Anniversary Celebration at Ridge (Ridge Vineyards, Monte Bello): Medium garnet color with bright raspberry, cherry, mineral, and spice aromas. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with black cherry, raspberry, mineral and spice flavors. Medium-long finish. 96% Zinfandel, 4% Petite Sirah.
It was a great pairing with the Housemade Pork Sausage, Broccoli Rabe, Mozzarella Pizza suggested
