Drank it over two days. I did notice the funk upon first opening. But left the bottle open for a couple of hours and it aired off. The nose is a bit overwhelming with alcohol. There are some dark, mature fruits as well. Some wet fur. On the palate, tannins are quite evident, along with some sweetness, maybe coming from the alcohol or the fruit. It is very ripe. This is certainly expressing the heat of the vintage both on the nose and on the palate. Is that good? I don't know. I think the goal is to express provenance and vintage but is it still the goal when the outcome lacks balance and harmony? Should there be more wine maker intervention? My Bordeaux mind is telling me yes but my Burgundy heart is resisting. I wish you better luck with your bottles.

Decanted 90 minutes. Dark ruby. At first, the nose is dominated by graphite, which gradually receded into mint, garrigue and, eventually, some faint cherry. Fabulous complexity on the palate, with all of the aforementioned flavors plus some gritty tannin on the lengthy finish. Impeccably balanced, but perhaps a bit underfruited. Nevertheless, a beautiful wine that will be appreciated by those who look for complexity in CDP above all else. Nice value in the $25 range. 89-90.

reminded me of a beaucastell for its funk, a bit too much.

Something of a disappointment. Decanted for an hour. Nice big nose at first, agree with other reviews on that. Otherwise...

Decant for one hour and drink. Big nose of black cherry and earth. Strong dark fruit, earth and pencil. Excellent
