Gold yellow. Still vibrant and with a nice balance of florals, citrus, tree fruit and minerality. Very clean palate, with a developing roasted hazelnut character. I left a half full bottle in the fridge for a week and it was still delicious.

At its peak? Everything is in excellent balance. Yellow gold, light pleasant tree fruit fragrance of Rhone white blend, with Tablas Creek signature notes of mango, ginger, and crushed rock. Generous mouthful of flavor with good weight and vibrant fruit. Really enjoyed this. Was still good on day 2.

Beautiful showing... complex fruit basket of summer stone fruits. Solid structure. Seven years in and plenty youthful. These wines can age, especially in cool year like '11.

Very nice, drank best shortly after PnP with ~1/3 of the bottle poured into a bottle with nearly no head space and sealed not as aromatic a couple days later. No notes, which is too bad; elegant, not cloying or thick, feeling fully mature, still floral, nice finish.

Deep gold in the glass. My nose is bothering me so I'm not getting too much from the aroma. Palate comes through with light quince and hay. Medium plus acidity; full Rhône mouthfeel. Delivers even when the nose is out of whack.

Wines At Our Table; Week of April 12th 2015; 4/6/2015-4/12/2015: Pale gold color with honeysuckle, peach, melon, honey aromas. On the palate it's medium-bodied, dry and broad with racy acidity and an appealing hint of tannins. It shows peach, melon, honey, and a hint of spice flavors with an appealing combination of salinity and wet stone minerality on the long finish. Blend of 27% Viognier, 26% Grenache Blanc, 25 % Marsanne, and 22% Roussanne. 13.1% alcohol

Sweet peach, slate rocks, and rich, red apple on the nose and palate. A rich and juicy wine, although this time, has good acidity to keep the richness in check. There is a minerality in the med length finish, but the alcohol pokes through a bit with some distracting oxidative pear notes as well. This wine is drinking nicely now, and I would drink it up before the end of 2016 at the most. Very good...but not my style.

Beautiful pale yellow, rich mouthfeel with notes of pear, melon, and slight mineral. Well balanced, great food wine. We loved it with peach, Serrano ham and arugula cornmeal crust pizza.

Just the Roussanne gets some new oak. Viognier 27%, 26% Grenache Blanc, 25% Marsanne, 22% Roussanne. From a single 4 acre block. Some buttery nuance to the nose. Peach, white flower, meadow palate. Nicely balanced palate that doesn't get at all blown out. Tree fruit, mineral. The palate is what really draws me in. 13% ABV.

"The earthiest" that they have ever done, which they think may be the roussanne showing itself a bit more because it is the only one that has a barrel ferment on it.
An dyes, with a touch of earth on the nose, a dry extract of richness, maybe not to my liking, or at least hard for me to think of how all the pieces of the parts fit together. But certainly well made.

As others have noted a sense of pear, melon, and slightly saline mineral overtone. Nicely balanced, well-crafted and totally enjoyable. We had this with our Valentine's day dinner and it paired wonderfully and was very much appreciated.

A lovely wine with lemon oregano chicken. On the nose we have notes of pear and grapefruit with refreshing mineral undertones. The palate is crisp yet buttery, with flavors of light citrus, pear, and a very subtle yet pleasant floral finish.

Aromas of lemon, wheat grass and earthy spice. Richly elegant on the palate with layered stone and citrus fruit flavors, and hints of mineral and spice through the finish. Very nice.

Weighty, unctuous white, not abundantly fruity but lightly suffused with nuts (almonds, hazelnuts), wildflower and mediterranean herbs (wild fennel), limestone, and hints of nectarines or peaches. The subtlety is deep and an attraction not a deficiency. Should be consumed at Beaujolais temperatures, 50-60 F, not cold. Another brilliant blend from Tablas Creek. Enjoyed with BBQed Salmon with a ginger glaze, asparagus, arugala salad, and Israeli couscous. May age well another 2-4 years.

Sunday Brown Bag Tasting: 2009 Gigondas (Hoyer's): Yellow color with aromas of quince, mineral, apple and pear with a subtle toasty undertone. Rich, full-bodied texture with flavors of apple and white fruit with a long finish. Develops a waxy, Rhonish quality. Initially thought Chard, but the weight and waxy quality had me in the Rhone blend camp.

A melange of flavors ranging from sweet to tart to savory, likely due to the four varietals that make up this blend, each of which makes an appearance during the hour in the glass. Apricots, lemons, sea breeze, honey, clover and herbs. Intoxicating bouquet of wildflowers and fresh cut hay. Delightful. Popped and poured over dinner with Hannah (and Kensie, of course, with Matt on a business trip). Perfect accompaniment to the whitefish stew with tomato and thyme broth. Wish we had a case of this.

Just bought from winery yesterday: almost equal Vionier, Rousanne & Marsanne. Probably richer & "thicker" due to the Rousanne amount. Quite floral in the nose and a good range of mango and cantaloup with slight carnation edge for spice. Finish is long and lightly viscous. Excellent now for all uses and should be nicer in the late summer months when the 3 varietals decide who's boss.

Color: pale yellow with the slight cloudiness. Nose was aggressively forward; lemongrass, honeysuckle. Palate showed the dominating personality of the viognier: peachy, with slight grapefruit and mineral focus. Clean and racy with bright, edgy acidity. Finish tails off a bit quickly; probably would be a nice match with oysters or shellfish. Good QPR and a nice, refreshing glass of wine.
