Very dark color. Nose of raspberries and dark fruit....Same on palate. Big. Balanced. Rich. Smooth tannins. Better, in my opinion than previous reviews....Maybe it's just growing up.

In the past I have been a huge fan of this wine. Maybe I should have waited a little longer before opening, but results would still have been just ok. Color is dark and rich. Tannins still strong, nose is subdued and I hoped for a stronger impression when I drank some. Some spice, a little earthiness and not much more. Hopefully, just an off bottle and next one will be better.

I tasted this alongside the 2010 Villa Creek High Road James Berry Vineyard, that the High Road won hands down. The James Berry grapes obviously make the difference here.

Drank immediately upon opening. Nice blend with interesting earth and pepper notes. Medium body and long finish.

Had 6-2015 and it was rough and not much fun. Maybe 5+ more years would have helped.

Villa Creek Winery (Paso Robles, CA): Very dark. Subtle nose. Quite rich palate. Smokey. Still quite young.
