Still drinking well. The impression of fruit that was missing a few years ago has made a return. Mango, litchi, spice in the nose and medium weight mouth. Finish ends just a touch off dry, which is also different than I recall.

Poured to a mature, golden color. The initial notes included roses, lychee nuts and honey in a rich but dry style wine. Fully mature, very drinkable although it has put on weight with age and isn't quite the refreshing summer wine I wanted.

Opened and a nice deep yellow coloring that turned more golden with time. A wonderful nose of rose, lychee and a hint of petrol. The flavor profile didn't match the nose, but I suspect the bottle is well past its prime. The score is a reflection of what might have been!

Any of the typical Zind-Humbrecht sweetness appears to have faded, leaving a complex nose, but an overly alcholic finish. Chilling this releaves the heat on the finish, but diminishes the nose, so it is hard to get a good balance between the two. At warmer temperatures, the nose has plenty of typical lychee and gingerbread spice. At cooler temperatures, the finish has some nice bitter allspice and nutmeg.

Nice age adding oxidized notes with plantains, flowers, spice and a bit of citrus. Good acidity, but at 15% you feel the heat on the back end. Still very enjoyable.

Nice pairing with stinky cheeses and charcuterie. A big, in your face wine that packs a ginger-lychee infused alcohol punch. Needs to be tempered by equally strong accompanying foods.

Fairly characteristic Gewurz nose. Classic pairing with Asian- very nice with food. Hint of white pepper. Minimal residual sugar. Average acidity. Agree with previous reviews that it packs some heat, but didn't distract from my enjoyment with the meal. Not as pleasant on its own.

Very rich and intense nectarine, orange rind with a slightly syrupy midpalate. The honeyed aromatics elevate this wine, and food tempers the oily texture. I probably should have drank this wine on release to maximize its acidity.

Golden in color. Beautiful orange blossom, lychee, and floral on the nose. Lychee, cirtris, and honey on the tongue. Long finish. Nice balance and complexity. Served with an Asian shrimp dish with a bit of heat. Yum.

Aromas of lichis and flowers. Golden apples, lichis, honey, pear and nutmeg on the palate, with a lingering, nutty, (white) peppery finish Good the first day, but did not keep so well. 2nd day was flabby and the bitter aftertaste was more pronounced. Hard to rate, since I really haven't had much Gewurtz at all.

The problem with this wine is the Alcohol - it is repreented as 14.5, meaning it is probably over 15%! The wine does have astringency - especially on the backend of the palate. The heat is noticable in the nose, attack, on the palate, and on the tongue on the finish...Not my thing.

This had all the characteristics of a classic Alsatian Gewurztraminer, especially from Zind Humbrecht. It had extreme Lychee nuts on the nose and on the palate, with very strong minerality. There was also some vanilla bean on the palate. Bracing acidity is another term that comes to mind. However, it lacked the sweetness that I like from a full fruity Gewurz. Not that I want any residual sugar for the regular bottlings, but I like that appearance of sweetness from the fruit. The finish was a bit raw and left some bitter taste in the back of my tongue, which was a disappointment. This is a tough one to rate overall. The positive characteristics present in the wine were excellent, justifying a higher rating closer to 88 or 89, but the negatives were annoying and cost a few points.

Very pleasant nose of lychee, pineapple and tropical fruit. In the mouth dry with a grapefruit peel and nutty finish. Medium length with refreshing aftertaste.

Sweet, buttery and quite tasty. Needed some food. A perfect example of this wine but not as wonderful on its own as the less highly rated Gundlach Bundschu. Maybe with an Asian dinner this one will really shine.

Medium golden colour. Huge aromatics of fresh flowers, lychee, apricots, and crushed minerals. The palate fails to follow through, however. Flabby and rich mouthfeel with less than expected fruit. Nice minerality and delicately sweet. The finish was a touch on the bitter side, very low acidity, but good spices. I think I built this one up too high and it didn't come through. Will try again.

Slightly orange in color, exhibiting loads of tropical fruit. Litchi, pineapple, apricot, and peach. Orange rind/zest at the finish with a touch of petrol. Pleasurable wine, although I felt it could use a bit more acid. But that's being picky, as I'd drink this happily on any given day.

I think WS got this one right. It's very exotic indeed. Lychees, apricots and also some beeswax too. Very elegant and multidimensional. Great mouthfeel, coats the palate with lush spicy flavors, great body and a caressing finish.

Lots of lemon, honey, apricot, and grapefruit on the nose and palate, BUT...I get significant astringency and drying tannins, and lots of Alcohol - on the nose and palate. Not my thing, can only hope this will improve...
