  • Consumed in blind tasting against other Honey Badger Wine Company blends (Combibo and Dr. Rob's Elixir), this Napa cab (leavened with doses of malbec and merlot) took second place. In the bottle for a tender year, it exhibited surprising complexity, with dark cherry, cassis and berry flavors balanced by minerality and spice (the latter a favorite of the winemaker); altogether, surprisingly nimble for a young cab blend. After the success of this vintage, the winemaker announced her retirement, dedicating herself to the enjoyment of others' labor (and more sophisticated palates).
