Definitely more of a Barolo than Barbaresco Nebbiolo vibe. Dark fruit, cedar, tightly wound, good acidity, decent tannins and tar and floral notes on the finish. Was a good drink with food now, but have a strong hunch this needed a bit more time to unfurl and show even better.

Excellent qpr for this varietally spot-on nebbiolo. Dried rose and potpourri and that signature tar. Really very good now, probably on a plateau for a few years more.

Cherry cordial and dusty raspberry on the nose. Tar, black licorice, tart red fruit, and creamy blackberry on the palate. Tannic but approachable after a few hours and a second glass.

Medium ruby. Served and decanted by Kensington Wine Room. It's very charming on the nose, plenty of berries and roses coming out. On the palate, it's grippy, structured, exactly what you expect a nice Barbaresco.

A darkly floral, strawberry and somewhat medicinal nose (band aids and iodine) lead up to a tart and closed but satisfying middle weight. Give it time. Tastes like whole cluster fermentation. Old world all the way. I was just reading a review of the 2011 DRC at over $11,000/bottle in which Allen Meadows (with no irony whatsoever!) called the wine "Zen like," which I read as nowhere near worth the price and not even that enjoyable but humbled by tasting it anyway. Well, for 1/225th of the price I would say this wine is also Zen like. I guess you have to choose what kind of Zen you can afford.

Just ok, more Barolo in feel than barbaresco which wasn't what we were looking for.
