  • Similar notes as before. A nice value. Had it side by side with a 2012 Sojourn and 2015 Goodfellow Durant, and this was a little behind the other two.

  • Medium gold color with a hint of green. This has solid acidity, lemons, peach, mineral, maybe a tiny hint of honey. I get some oak at the end. It is crisp, the finish is on the short side. A good value.

  • What a phenomenal value the 2010 Chateau de Chamirey Mercury Blanc is. At $20ish you get a wine that offers a distinctive character and an evening of hedonistic pleasure. Vanilla and oak on the nose. Flavors of lemon, oak, and sea salt deliver on the palate. A clean, crisp, and acidic finish.

  • A beautiful philosophical night with the ladies...a tasty dinner and this special beauty..... now I had bought this guy about a year ago and simply forgot about it on the racks. Well...popped the cork, decanted for about an hour or so and ...citris, litter box and grass to the nose. Very lovely pallet. Citrus, tropical fruit, butter, hay, minerals, a slight fungas on the back end...a huge disappointment was the short finish. But otherwise, an excellent addition to a very nice night.

  • Very subtle and smooth; this chardonnay paired great with cafe foods like cheese+crackers, salad, and buttered bread. More of a palate cleanser than a dominant flavor. Crisp and short finish. Slightly better the second day.

  • Tempted to give this a lower score, but the balance was so nice, and it hit all the basic points you want to see.
Yellow gold. Popped and poured: Oaky buttery nose with some malo. Subdued citrus notes.
Medium body, buttery chard character. Good crisp acids; good mouthfeel. Not overly complex, bbut there are hints of tropical fruit - one other note said Lychee and papaya...maybe...
Medium short finish; clean. Shorter and crisper than expected, but I served it with green salad/vinaigrette and sourdough bread.
On the second day the tropical fruit was more noticeable in the mouth. Balance still very good. Very tasty wine. Fair to good QPR.

  • The wine looks straw colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like lemon, lychee, peach, papaya and honeysuckle. It tastes like lychee, passion fruit, clove and eucalyptus. The body is medium/full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

    A fabulous wine.

  • Many thought this was a california wine based on the oak and touch of butter but it showed some mineral and good acidity. Perfectly good wine but no dominate characteristic sets it apart.

  • Bright solid gold. Nose of cream, apricot, bruised pear, toast, brioche. In its prime now. Medium bodied, medium plus acidity. Good mid-palate weight and length. Slight flinty note.

  • Medium-deep, greenish-yellow color. Rich, characterful and quite powerful nose that shows aromatics that are quite different from those more classic aromas of the wines from Beaune - there are notes of ripe peach, some pear juice concentrate, even a little bit of vague red-toned fruit reminding me of cherry, along with oakier tones of cream and a hint of sweet vanilla. The wine is dry, refreshing and quite structured on the palate with high acidity and quite pronounced woody bitterness. Contrasting the ripe aromatics from the nose, the flavors are rather savory with flavors of tart green apples, spicy oak, some vanilla, a little big of stony minerality and a hint of yellow damson. The finish is very long, crisp and powerful with intense and lively flavors of green apples, aromatic and slightly bitter herbs, stony minerality, some woody oak tones, a little bit of oak spice, a hint of cream and a touch of vanilla.

A very interesting and characterful Chalonnaise Chardonnay, showing a very start contrast between the very sweet and fruit nose and the dry, bitter and structured midpalate. Although the wine feels quite impressive for a wine from such a lowly appellation, I feel it is still a little bit all over the place. I'd let the wine see its 10th birthday, because it sure feels like it is built for it. Now it lacks a bit focus and I hope some cellaring will let the wine get its game together.

  • Some spices, ample acidity, light red fruit flavors. Not complex but certainly enjoyable and reasonble price.

  • This needs a little time. Right now, the acidity is overwhelming the fruit. In 2-4 years, it will be much better. If you must drink it now, it is better with food. Nice fruity, citrusy nose. The acid brings out the citrus flavors on the palate.

  • Nose of apricot and apple. Apple and lemon on the palate. Potent acid creating a long finish. Paired very nice with cheesy bread and mac and cheese. The acid cut through the cheese perfectly. Lightest tough of minerality on the tail of the finish. Nice wine for the price.

  • Surprisingly xotic nose for such a mineral-ladden wine. Good structure and length. Healthy dose of acidity leads to belive this could go for quite a while for a Mercurey. Very nice.
