From magnum, this is excellent: plump and plummy, a light fringe of chewy tannins, refreshing acidity on the palate. All you could ask for from a 2011 cru Beaujolais in 2023.

This is zestier and more vital than the 2011 Chermette Trois Roches Moulin opened over the weekend - which was tired, likely past its peak. Still, I would say, drink up while the vitality is there. Need to check on all my other 2011 Beaujolais now, these have matured faster than I'd expected.

This bottle is nicely-evolved relative to the one I opened last May - smoother, less obtrusive tannins, overall suaver. Very pleasant red berry with a bit of stone and refreshing acidity. Less volume than the Trois Roches opened last week, the fruit of which was plummier; less challenging, more rewarding to drink on its own now. Possibly the Moulin's brooding quality implies more potential down the road, or it might pair better with fatty red meat.
Since I stopped eating dinners last year, wine is not so much a part of the food I eat as of the music I listen to, and I am now, alas, ill-equipped to comment on food-wine pairings.

Shows a taste of sweet decay that I have found hard to catch. It is very appealing. Taking variation into account, this particular bottle is teetering on the edge between the full height of its glory and decrepitude. But right now, nothing short of glorious.

This bottle was at another level from the last one in 2017. Carries the cherry and earth in a deeper, more resonant range now. This is serious cru Beaujolais and an absolute steal. I almost always like good Beaujolais but I rarely find it to carry much gravitas. This does.

Similar tale for this cru as for the Trois Roches Moulin-a- Vent from the same vintage. Better the second day than the first, and stands up very well to careless treatment for. three days, at least. Though I often prefer the Garants, in this year, the Moulin gets the nod, as being fuller, rounder, and therefore more balanced, in the context of the high-acidity wines of Beaujolais. This Garant was sturdy, solid, a good glass of wine, but only that. Drunk over a few days without food - no doubt, with food, this would show better. Steak, I think.

Last of 6 bottles - dark red with a clear meniscus. On nose, wet stone, dried cherry, tart cherry, plum (darker fruit) and touch of dirt. On palate, medium+ body, medium acidity, integrated tannins and long finish. Fruit brighter on palate than nose (strawberry & cherry). Got better with 30 minutes of air. I'd drink now given fruit is slightly oxidized on nose (but not palate). 90+/-
Would buy more recent vintages of this - this aged very well, especially given the "poor" vintage.

Very nice nose of forest berry, herbs, fresh cut flowers.
Surprisingly fresh and crunchy red fruits are vibrant and layered with red cherry, raspberry, cranberry, and sour cherry melding perfectly with minerals, light earth, and herbs. Finish is medium long.
Great wine, went well with Turkey, cranberry, gravy bite. Fully mature and likely peaking, but should hold for several more years.

A toss up between some sort of fault (TCA/oxidation) and just a rustic Beaujolais that's good enough for BBQ sausages and a search for some better plonk to drink. Can't decide. Off to the cellar for a replacement.

Like Quarked below my bottle’s cork had a line of red running bottom to top, though nothing seemed to have leaked and it came off with a pop. The wine itself tasted quite aged (none of the fruitiness others describe) but had pleasant cherry and dried floral notes. Completely integrated medium acid/tannins. Maybe a foreshadow of where other bottles will go with time. 90 if I had to officially score it.

What a lovely wine and what excellent value. Summer evening drink, intense red and black fruits with earth and herbs, mid-weight, balanced tannins and acid. Agree with earlier comment that it seemed a bit harder on the second night.

Drank over 2 nights (great on both). Notes from night 1. Dark red color with a slight change in color from rim to center. On nose, bright cherry, strawberry & wet rocks. On palate, medium body, medium acidity & long finish. Thirst quenching, especially if served near cellar temperature & great with food (served with pan grilled Halibut Steaks). Flavor profile on palate similar to nose. This has aged very well and is highly recommended. 92+

A delightful wine at its peak which fully lives up to its charming name. Medium bodied with good roundness and exactly the right seamless mixture of red fruit, fragrant aromas, flinty minerals, fresh acidity and silky texture. Fun to drink, moreish, graceful and elegant and would be ideal for its type with a touch more length.

Tasted at Wine Advocat event - A matter of taste. Tataaaaaaaa! My first Bojo in I don't know how many years - and what a nice surprise. The name Beaujolais of course being properly ruined by the amount of trash they produce there every year, you must feel sorry for the producers who try to make quality wine. Varietal. Gamay. Medium garnet. Expressive nose of cherry, spices, gingerbread. On the palate this is soft and succulent with an ever so slightly earthy under tone providing complexity. Great food wine. I would prefer this any day to the well crafted but always a bit character less Merlots/SabSavs from the new world mass producers. 91-92

should have read my prior note before pulling. this wine is way too young. Was not able to decant either so that did not help. Gulpable but limited complexity at this stage of the game. Went very good with fried chicken but fairly simple today. Will drink remaining 2015+
If decanted for 1-2 hours should be fine now.

Red cherry, earth, plum, smoke, and a hint of black raspberry on the nose. Tart cherry, plum, red cherry, earth, a hint of cocoa powder, and raspberry on the palate Nice acidity, slightly puckery tannins, good finish. Overall, this is quite forward and delicious, though there's something that's holding me back from liking it more that I can't pinpoint. This seems like a good wine for those who aren't big Beaujolais fans.

Popped and poured. Bright purple color. Pretty nose right out of the bottle with some bright red fruit, some purple floral notes, a bit of earthiness and minerality. Similiar flavors on the palate with a nice tart red fruit profile with cranberry and pomegranate along with some soil driven, mineral flavors. Medium acid and tannins with a smooth mouthfeel and clean finish. Light bodied but not thin on the palate. Very food friendly and overall an enjoyable wine.

Lots to like here but, I enjoy Thivin's Cote Brouilly even more and can source it for less locally in my market. This is lovely Beaujolais but not worth the extra bucks vs. my "go to" Thivin which has more depth and a slightly more feminine frame I prefer. This is bigger and richer but also easy to admire.

Right down my alley with this Gamay. Bright, crisp red fruit dominate with great acidity and strong dirt/mineral accents. Will be interesting to watch its evolvement, but a fun and interesting wine to enjoy over the evening as it opens now.

Vibrant, pure nose of chocolate covered cherries, rose petals and a hint of barnyard/earth. The palate - in a word, delicious. Juicy cherries, cocoa, flowers, herbs, earth, licorice... very deep & complex. Smooth with moderate acidity, light tannins, long finish. Drink one now after letting the bottle sit open for an hour or two but I am very interested to see where this will go with additional cellar time as well.

Bright purple color with great clarity. Pretty nose of floral notes, cranberry, pomagranate, a bit of white pepper and some slight mineral/iron notes. Similar flavors on the palate with bright, juicy red fruit and some spicy, mineral flavors on the back end. Strong acidity, medium- tannins, smooth mouthfeel and a pleasant finish. This wine is drinking great right now and I do not think it is a candidate for long term aging. A really great QPR at the price paid.

I have heard mixed things about the '11s and haven't tasted a whole lot yet, so I was a little taken aback with just how beautiful this is right out of the gate, in a completely effortless fashion. The rounded, plush fruit is reminiscent of the '09 - this is not juicy, angular Beaujolais but rich and enveloping, gamay freshness combined with Burgundian sophistication, highly drinkable and suavely textured.

Needed to let this wine warm up to really see some of its potential. Lots of stoney accents on the nose with cool red fruit below. The palate was zippy, cool, and rocky. A really complex and layered wine that can easily occupy an evening.

This gamay wine deserves serious respect. Complex aromas of blackberry, cherry, smoke and earth. The palate is pure with laser-like focus. Incredible balance between the fine tannins, the fresh fruit flavors and the bright acid. Flavors of smoked plum, earth and fig. The best thing about the wine is the mineral and limestone aspects that lingers long on the finish. Very nice stuff, one of the better Morgon's I've had, period. This will age well for a decade, no problem. But it's so yummy, I imagine this would be hard to hold onto.

A really great QPR at the price paid.

high toned red fruits, lively acidity, hints of earth and florals. Didn't seem to get the level of complexity others mention here, but definitely a nice wine.

Saturday with David White (Domaine Wine Storage & Sun Wah - Chicago, IL): Thoroughly impressed by this. Great juicy gamay with a real vivid earthy and meaty streak to it. Loved the energy.

Vinoblesse Wine Tasting (Baarn, Netherlands): More depth than the Brouilly Pierreux, altogether a more serious wine.
