Placid dark and slightly cloudy (under the light) ruby. Confectionary nose filled with sweet mixed fruit. Pleasantly sour with raspberries and plum skin. It has held up well due to the Mt. Veeder mountain fruit but it’s not going to improve any further. Lots of character.

Leather, plumb fruit, floral and mint. Lovely and fairly balanced with silky smooth tannin. Great acidity keeping this fresh. Earthy herbaceous finish. Drink now.

Great concentration with ample plumb fruit, cassis and dark chocolate notes. Wonderful nose. Round and smooth with integrated tannin. Herbs and leathery finish. Excellent longevity here. Much better than i expected and still quite youthful for a 30 year old Cali Cabernet. Drink now.

Medium garnet-red color. Raw tobacco leaf (!) and mint scented nose, with cherry fruit showing significant oxidation. On arrival, low-medium tannin and medium acidity; a bit angular even for wine from a mountainous, shallow soil, Eastern-facing cabernet vineyard. In the mouth, there's nice fruit and some smoothing effects of wood that weren't apparent in the aroma. Medium finish. Paired well with butter leaf lettuce salad and a huge Charcuterie plate. Bottle #4 of four.

Looked remarkably youthful for a 25 year old cab. Cork was crumbly, but still a dark magenta, a bit of a clear meniscus, no bricking. Aroma of licorice, excellent balanced flavors of red fruits, herbs, and a bit of funk.

Medium ruby, some bricking. Nose of cherry pie, olives, damp earth. Medium tannin, low acidity. Decent fruit extract remains, if a bit oxidized. Tannins pummel the mouth a bit. Finish is powerful, acids more evident with air in two hours. Well past its prime, but drinkable. Bottle #4 of four.

Tasted January 13, 2010 at an offline. Tasted from magnum. Garnet color in the glass, slightly dusty looking. Nose of dried herbs, forest floor, light currants and berries. Flavors of berries and cherries. Medium acidity, fully integrated tannins, medium body. Drink now. Performed surprisingly well in this format.

Aged CA Cabs, Armory: Nice bright purple! Nice aromas of herbal-smoke-touch of bright red-black (currant) frt still there--hint minerals? Mth is very lively, med. bod, gd bal, tons of a’s! lively, some say “lemon peel” even; a bit too acidic maybe; long tart fin; the a’s kept this alive (color, bal, aromas--all good--but maybe preserved it at the expense of gracefully aging?) Will stay together another 5 yrs easily.

Tasting of 6 Cabernet Sauvignons. Slightly musty and fruity nose with chocolate, backward fruit but intense in the mouth that's almost elegant, nice finish. Retail $14.95. My #4 and Group #2 of 6.

Bottle was not decanted and should have been - Slightly tart, still tannic, Juniper berries, full bodied, deep garnet color
