At this point, the wine is on the down hill slope although it is still quite tasty. There was an interesting build up of sediment inside the neck of the bottle just under the cork. Fruit still good although waning.

Aroma of ripe dark fruit (blackberries, black currants, and baked blueberries), allspice, new leather, dried mint, fresh leaves, and cigar box. Palate very closely tracks the bouquet, but the fruit wasn't quite as present. A bit hot, but nothing unusual for a Napa Cab. Medium acidity... maybe a notch too low for such a huge wine.
Tannin is still intense leading me to believe that this can age for quite a while longer, but this is right around the sweet spot for me. Very well integrated and complex while still displaying those dark fruits. I opened this one thinking I may have missed the peak based on other tasting notes available, but this was thoroughly enjoyable, and I predict it has several years to go before decline.

Christmas Day I agree with the community The wine is nearing past it’s prime. A bit disappointed actually. Still has some life, but not the stallion it once was. Drink it up

Beautiful dark plum color. Berry and leather aroma. Sure enough, blackberry and black currant flavors. Then, some leather, or, maybe, dustiness. Tannin is, mostly, resolved. There is still some puckeriness indicating that several more years of sideway won't hurt. I is a super drinker, now, though.

Decanted and served. Classic fruit-forward Napa Cabernet with plentiful aged cassis and gentle tannins. Showing beautifully, drink now and over next few years.

Dark purple in color with ripe black fruit aromatics. Decanted for an hour, this Lewis cab did not disappoint. Various flavors of black cherry, blueberry and plum, beautiful oak and minerally complexity.

Decanted for 3 hours. Aromas of black fruit and licorice, this full-bodied beauty was smooth and powerful with bold flavors of blackberry, plum and dark cherry fruit. The finish was also long and velvety.

- Medium forming legs. It's balanced with a medium/full body. Round texture with a medium finish - Really great. Strong but smooth fruit berry flavors. Even long finish.

Huge napa cab, very California. Big round tannins, mouth filling plum licorice and blackberry. The oak is overpowering. This is over-the-top American wine to the max, so depends on your taste. Nothing subtle here.

Wow. This is what they mean when they talk about a “powerhouse Napa Cab.” Very dark in the glass. Slightly alcoholic nose. Cassis and prune on the tip of the tongue. Then something licorice—maybe, more herbal, like basil—and dark chocolate. Very, very serious tannin. This wine just fills your mouth. I would think that this one can lay sideways for another decade, at least, for the tannins to calm down. It will be worth the wait.

Still very tannic, needs some time to settle down, long rich finish. Even day 2 it softened a bit but the tannins are still very present. We will wait a few years before we open another

Baking spices on the nose. Over the top in the mouth. Cherry cola and baked goods with a good amount of toasted oak and vanilla. Not really my thing, though well made for what it is.

Perhaps a touch past its prime, but still a classic Lewis cab. Paired very well with a grilled NY steak

drinking beautifully, it is what it is, a big big Napa cab, all the usual notes, well evolved, may get better but can surely love right now
