This was a pristine bottle with a fine green gold colour and a nose of white peach, pear, oatmeal and honey. The palate is well rounded with lovely complexity of fruit characters and a persistent minerality on a finish that shows excellent grip and persistence. Its an elegant bottle of classic Meursault with lots of character.

Lovely bottle consistent with past notes. No major evolution since I last tried it. I really enjoy the mikulski style. Nice acid and lift with a buoyant and rich finish.

Lovely bottle of meursault. Light straw gold in color with a refined nose, this is the lighter in flavor and more elegant of the two 2010 mikulski wines. Tried this side by side with the perieres last night.
Nose of beeswax, citrus and flowers. Light on the palate with nice citrus acidity and flavors, light oak and some minerally notes. This is a very delicate wine. A bit more concentration would have yielded a higher score.

Light yellow. Crisp nectarine, apricot fruit. A hint of toasty oak. Very delicate, demure. Really tasty now. Not even a hint of oxidation. One more bottle will patiently wait for another year.
Bright light yellow. Ripe white peach, apricot and lemon notes. A dose of toasty oak on the finish. Still has plenty of balancing acidity, although I'd probably start drinking these up over the next 2-3 years.

Meursault with James Handford (Handford Wines, London): A touch shy on the nose and would have loved some more aromatics to go with this excellent palate. Very elegant wine, lightest touch of oak, good and polished acidity, limes, citrus feel, young but very much a classy wine. Lovely finish too.

More evolved than the 2010 Comtes Lafon Charmes tasted alongside. Ripe, almost exotic fruit notes; layered, generous and powerful. Notes of spices and minerality. Nicely balanced on the palate, maybe fading a little towards the end of the tasting. Very intense and long finish. Drink or keep. 91-93

La Paulée de San Francisco - The Verticals (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. This is very good, even better than I thought when last tasted in 2013. Clearly ripe orchard fruit with some tropical hints, but great spice, acidity and structure to maintain great balance. Very good for its level.

Better than the previous bottle I had broached a couple of years ago. This held its own against a rich cream soup and enticed a former Swiss ambassador, used to the luxuries of life, and a banker friend, into rhapsodies. I was less fulsome in praise, but by no means critical. This is now showing well. I am not sure it has the structure to develop further but will watch with interest

La Paulée de New York 2013 (Metropolitan Pavilion, NYC): Similar subtle acid and mineral nose to the Charmes, but with greater intensity; this sports a more noticeable oak at this point, but is nevertheless in a balanced position. Great.

Confirming my previous impression, this is still a beautifully balanced, although maybe light, chardonnay
Elegant, exquisite, are the operative words.

Restrained nose
Soft oak touch on palate, elegant, would have liked a little more overt acidity - but that is just a niggle on a lovely chardonnay

The Verticals Tasting at La Paulée 2016 (The Fairmont, San Francisco): Yellow. Toasty pineapple. Ripe entry, quite a bit of acidity behind it though. Better in the mouth than it smells, but this is ultimately plagued by too much wood.

La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Metropolitan Pavilion - New York NY): Tasting. Also showing lots of lush fruit with tropical elements and lots of spice. Rich and powerful start, more elegant and styled finish.
