  • After a lot of DDLC and various Burgundy, this was great to taste. Showed more finesse and poise than the other wines before it. Not powerful but had a good spine. Worth seeking out

  • tasted blind. the wine had a great nose of barnyard, animale, turned earth and funky fruit which immediately took me to Rayas, and I was pretty sure I had nailed it (or at least the general region and producer style), but alas again, stymied, by the brown bag. in the mouth a lovely smooth red, lush, with lots of heft, once I found out what it was I started seeing the iron first in the velvet glove analogy and now in retrospect it reminds me of a great volnay. Really enjoyed trying this but when the patriarch told me the price i couldnt help but wince. And then there are his whites...
