  • {Visit to Cascina Morassino} Follows the 2011 Ovello, this is in a much different place, with generous amounts of floral perfume and ripe, red fruits. The first of the wines that shows layering, notwithstanding the fact that this is 100% barrique. Very long finish, really delicious, and likely to get better in the coming 3-5 years. Only 300 bottles plus some magnums were produced. The label (and barrique) were specially chosen in this vintage, so don't look for the regular black labels. It's rare that I (can) enjoy this much new wood, but this was a tasty treat. 14,5% abv., recommended
