Similar to bottle in France 3 1/2 years ago. VA is prominent, but some classical, lead pencil, mineral inflections and richer fruit than 2007 Saint Julien AOC. Has a Natural wine, vinegar inflection at finish after a lot of air.

What a pronounced, red fruited wine. Bold, exceptional on the nose, none of the VA I thought I had sensed before. Absolutely big boned and ultra muscular on the palate, this one is bound for glory.

Beautiful nose, yes there's some VA here but it's not over the top, well within within traditional margins. Touch of blood, too, and that sense of a long, non-temp-controlled maceration in old oak, like Bosconia or something. More fine and more solid than the 07, which is a delicious drink in its own right, but this will be gorgeous in time. A long distance runner.

Medium color. Forward olive and menthol nose. Lovely middle weight, brisk acidity, tobacco finish, and best of all, no wood influence. I really liked the pure, unadorned nature of this.

Although lean on the palate it also stole the show. Not sure if its coming or going...

This is decent stuff. Well pronounced fruit aromas, some iron and leather. Nice depth to the palate, juicy, fresh and still young.

The declassified year. And damn! The nose. And great minerality on the palate. Maybe a touch of VA but it helps it out.
